Day 44: Sun Room (4th Shift)

Sep 30, 2009 07:14

As soon as she had the chance, Sheena ninja'd herself out of the cafeteria and away from the conversation she'd been semi-forced to have. She probably could have just clammed up and told the boys to go away, but she'd kind of owed at least Endrance some kind of explanation. It wasn't everyday the embodiment of darkness pops up and delivers a ( Read more... )

[closed to HK-47. Potential threaders plz make inquiries]

With lunch over, and the new knowledge Beatrix possessed, she knew the assassins would need to move fast this upcoming night or that boy and his group would beat them to the prize. That being said, she didn't fancy the idea of going into the night needing to take a hostage, so she was bound and determined to make sure HK-47 was going to show this night.

As she kept an eye out for the droid, she scanned the bulletin board. A few things stood out. Interesting. It seemed the snake was going to be hunting them this night. Even more reason to move quickly. In fact, this was also a way for HK-47 to make things up for absence the previous night.

Turning her back to the board, she watched for the other assassin.

Well, he had managed to escape the second refueling shift with no more mortal embarrassment. Apparently, sometimes just hiding in a corner glaring at everything that came within twenty meters was a successful strategy.

...But it would most certainly not work on the female assassin, who had likely immediately spotted him as soon as his nurse led him into the Sun Room. Oh fierfek.

There was no use in avoiding this, although in the interest of heading off more embarrassment, he had to attempt to appeal to some logic, if not actual mercy. "Supplication: I've already been dealing with every single meatbag with photoreceptors and a working processor about... that today. Please do not mention it any more than absolutely necessary."

The Bride fixed HK-47 with her cold, hard eyes for a long moment.

"Very well. I will only say this then - the next time you decide to engage in such an activity again with Lockdown, do not let it interfere with our mission in the basement. Should it happen again, I will remove both your and Lockdown's testicles then tack them up on this board," she stated.

Ugh, that was a thought he hadn't really ever wanted to imagine. HK cringed slightly at the imagery that ran through his head. "Affirmative: Understood. It's not as if I am at all eager to repeat such an experience any time soon." It had felt good, but the meatbags were making this so insufferable!

"Good," Beatrix replied. Now onto more important business.

"Unless you have plans I am unaware of, we will be continuing our mission," the Bride stated. "I just had a meeting with another that is in competition for the final piece, so we must move quickly tonight. I will not have us defeated by a group of children." Even if the one was a useful child.

"In addition to that, I am reasonably certain that Ophelia will be hunting us tonight." Her lips curled up in a cruel manner. "As you are the only one out of us that has not had the pleasure of stabbing her yet, would you like the have the honors of stabbing her should she be stupid enough to show her face?"

HK looked visibly relieved when the meatbag seemed to completely drop the topic. No more talk about human copulation! That might make this the highlight of his day.

"Statement: I will be able and willing to lend my assistance. I also have an axe now," he sounded almost childishly proud of this fact.

Excellent. Offer the droid a chance to kill a meatbag, especially one that was as irritating as Ophelia, and he fell right back into line.

"Meet at the usual place tonight and be prompt. Now, how did you come about an axe?"

"Statement: I will be there. The location has not been overwritten in my memory core that quickly." Now that there was no threat of talk about sex, his snark could reemerge. "From the hardware store, during the fun of all the killing of zombie meatbags." He'd had so much fun. An entire night, devoted to nothing but slaughter! It had been wonderful.

Ah. So that's where he'd gotten the axe. It couldn't be anything more than a woodcutter's axe or perhaps even a fireman's axe. Though not designed for combat, Beatrix was certain HK-47 would find an effective use for it.

"Did you spend that entire night reveling in slaughter or did you even devote a kilobyte of your processor to using it as an opportunity to return to your master?"

"Statement: That is truly hurtful. If there were any chance of return to my master, I would take it as soon as this became clear! But in this meatbag body, I would be useless to my master. As a meatbag, I can be detected by Jedi and Sith, and no longer can I withstand hard vacuum or any number of other conditions that might provide a clear shot at an unsuspecting target. I must be returned to my original chassis before I can properly serve my master." The thought of being unworthy as his master's assassin was agonizing, yet he had been attempting to deal with it throughout this whole torturous experience.

Beatrix almost felt sorry for saying what she had. Almost. Still, her gaze was not quite as hard as it had been.

"It never occurred to you that perhaps your master is far more suited to finding your chassis once you make contact with him or her than you are in your current meatbag body?"

HK squeezed his eyes shut, looking pained. "Query: Are you aware that this is making my shutdown protocols more likely to activate? Because you should be. Do you really want to run the risk of locking all of my combat experience and therefore most of my abilities from me?"

quickdrawbkiddo October 3 2009, 01:28:22 UTC
Beatrix hadn't thought of that.

"I see." A pause. "Stop fretting, HK. Finding your chassis will be easy once we've killed Landel."

Oh, wonderful. The meatbag finally had to be told to realize this, after he'd already stated what would happen in these circumstances before? HK gave the other assassin a distinctly unimpressed flavor of blank look. "Statement: Just so long as I do not shut down before then. My efficiency always decreases after locking of my memory cores." And if he was to shut down, then he'd rather boot up with an inorganic master than a fleshy one. Now that he had a choice, it was one that he chose on principle.

"Of course you won't shut down before then. We both know killing Landel will make things so much easier," the Bride replied.

Changing subjects, Beatrix said, "I sold the lizard pieces from the other night to the candy maker. I am curious what he's going to make out of them. He makes it sound like his chocolates and other candies have special properties."

"Statement: I would have shut down almost immediately upon my arrival here, had I not been in this meatbag form. This is merely the product of meatbag illogic and difficult to access subroutines," HK replied, irritated. He was right about this, damn it, and he wasn't going to drop the subject until this was acknowledged, or he was threatened into silence again.

"I find that odd, to say the least. How would lizard bits enhance chocolate to any significant degree?" He liked his chocolate undiluted with more meatbag-y products, thank you. ...Although he did very much like what was labeled as milk chocolate, but he was going to ignore that for now.
