[from here]Although her body was going through the motions--metal, she still needed to collect metal for the blade she was going to have created--what was going on within Yomi's mind had nothing to do with reaching her scavenging goals ( Read more... )

With the cudgel perched perfectly on his shoulder, Starscream followed behind the flesh-creature in near silence, notwithstanding the soft "shff" his slippers made on the slick floor. The halls, and now too the intercom, buzzed with quiet sounds, almost as if they were human voices whispering in dissonant unison. The Decepticon paid it all no mind, however; indeed, the soft buzzing was a welcome retreat from the normally haunting silence that tended to grip these halls at night. As if this thought comforted him, Starscream puffed out his chest, continuing forward with a slight increase in speed, his light still focused on the girl as she led the way onward ( ... )

Lockdown did his best to ignore the feeling that he saw an extra door out of the corner of his optic again. It wasn't easy though. It was like a stray bolt that you felt just had to be tightened.

It had been a while since he was up here last, so the bounty hunter scanned the hallway with his flashlight. In doing so, he spotted a familiar someone.

It seemed that Starscream's foot had healed. Maybe this would be a good time to ask about the gunpowder, if nothing else. Lockdown began walking in the direction the Decepticon was in and gave him a curt, "Hey Starscream."

The two couldn't be a coincidence, could they? The worsening nights, and this alternate Kagura's arrival... Wherever Yomi was, whatever Landel's Institute was, the nights were like a gateway to the other side, one that was getting larger and larger...

Yomi closed her hand around the door handle herself as another's presence tripped her senses; she glanced over, marking the emerging figure in the same fashion she had her injured duckling, filing miens and names away with unconscious habit. An interruption. There was never a respite from them.

Waiting served no purpose to her or to her material tasks, so she opened the door and headed in by herself.

Starscream stood upright, a bit startled at the voice that called out his name like a crack of thunder in a quiet night. He turned, branch held defensively, but soon relaxed when he recognized the voice. With a snarl he walked forward, clicking his tongue as the flesh-creature entered into the room without him.

"Good to see the previous night has spared you, Lockdown," he grinned, a touch of sarcasm lacing his words. Easing his stance further, Starscream rested the heavier end of the branch on the floor, supporting himself as he stopped a few feet from his new companion. His smirk widened more, one hand gripping the branch ever tighter as the other held the light in place, shining onto Lockdown's form.

After a moment's pause, his eyes narrowed angrily, but otherwise his pose remained the same. "So... has Megatron assigned you to kill me yet?"
