Having assessed no immediate threats in the room, the princess immediately strode over to the various drawers and began systematically raiding them for anything useful. Anything not was immediately dropped to the ground.
A variety of ladles, spoons and other kitchen instruments hit the floor, though a set of forks made their way into Hime's pocket. Eventually, however, she was rewarded with a medium size kitchen-knife. She would have preferred a butcher's cleaver, but it seemed she really couldn't complain.
Knife in hand, her eyes wandered about to find this pantry Kagura so wanted to visit when her attention was caught by a slightly ajar door leaking the cold white wisps that hinted of cooler room inside. A walk-in refrigerator? Not much of a mystery, though her curiosity was perked by why people might go inside. Was raiding the kitchen for food really so popular in a survival/horror situation?
"Hey, let's look in here," Hime suggested, walking over and shining a light at the door. It was mostly idle curiosity and Kagura would probably be wanting to either kick something or go to the pantry now... but it would be easy enough to motivate her, probably. "Maybe they've got ice cream," she added."
Kagura looked inside the drawers and shelves, just in case there was something interesting in it. There were none, just a few kitchen utensils and a dead spider. She watched as Hime picked up the knife, noting that she too was a bit too interested in it for her own good.
But the pantry was near-by so that didn't stay in her thoughts for long. She was going to make a dash for it when she heard those magical words.
"Ice cream?" Kagura found herself standing beside Hime as if it were her instinct to respond. "Then what are you waiting for, Princess! Let's go! Let's go!"
So what if Hime spent a few moments looking the knife over from practically every angle? Until something better or more interesting presented itself, this was Hime's weapon for the foreseeable future, and it paid to be acquainted with one's weapons.
And there she went, hook, line and sinker. Motivating Kagura was really as simplistic as she thought. Not that Hime wasn't fond of ice cream, but honestly? She and her knife had more important things to do than have a late night snack.
Smiling in a way that may have been amused or just simply patronizing, she kicked open the door to the walk in fridge and headed inside.
