[From here]These two were just little Chatty Cathies, weren't they? Whatever. As long as they didn't start talking about how much their love could never be and got to kissing in front of her, they didn't have a problem here. Dahlia followed them as quietly as she could, doing a nice job of attempting to be stealthy and just looking ridiculously ( Read more... )

[From here]

Good thing he'd kept a hold on his flashlight, it was still really dark out here when there wasn't any windows. He fumbled with it for a few seconds to turn it on, getting both himself and Loz over a little ways down from the door. They could wait for whoever was supposed to come with them here.

"Aww man." He just realized he still had a whole bunch of that sticky stuff on his shirt. Well, he'd deal with that once Loz was okay and didn't need someone to hold him up.

Loz plopped heavily down and leaned against the wall. He put a hand to his chest, wincing as pain flared through it again. The Remnant lifted up his shirt and saw that he now sported a large bruise where the costumed man had kicked him.

Loz put his shirt back down and then did what he had been trying not to do for the past few minutes. He started to cry. He wanted to cover his face and hide his tears, but his arms felt like they weighed a million pounds.

Once Loz didn't need his help for the moment, Beelzemon dropped his flashlight and tried to wrestle his way out of the sticky shirt. He didn't want to have to deal with the thing any more, it was just being a pain and sticking to itself.

Just as he was tossing the thing away, he realized he was being an idiot and not noticing that Loz was crying. "Awww." He sat down next to Loz, putting an arm around him to try to be comforting. "You did good back there."

For once, Loz didn't immediately deny that he was crying. He was too exhausted and emotional at the moment. So, he just leaned into Beelzemon's embrace, murmering, "Yeah... you did too..." The Remnant managed to quirk the corner of his lip in a faint smile.

Loz wasn't used to being comforted, but he couldn't deny that it felt... very nice. Eventually, the tears stopped flowing, although Loz did still sniff a few times and his cheeks were still wet

Awwww. As much as someone crying normally meant something real bad for him too, like when Ai and Mako had fought all the time, he did his best not to let that show and just help out his friend.

He wanted to try and find something to say, but for once it felt like saying nothing was probably the best idea, so he just stayed quiet, sitting next to Loz.

"Hey... thanks..." Loz wasn't really sure what else to say other than that.

He still felt too weak to lift his arms, though sitting and resting did help, so he idley started picking at the sticky stuff on his ankles, which just ended up sticking to his fingers. Just what was that stuff? And who exactly was that man in that room back there?

"No problem. 's just what a friend should do, that's all." At least he thought it was. He'd only ever really just watched other people have friends.

"I dunno what's with that stuff. Maybe it'll dry out or somethin'?" He hadn't waited to find out with his shirt, that was just a total mess.

The Remnant just nodded, "Yeah." Loz had never really had any other friends besides his brothers. He liked his brothers and had deep loyalty to them both, but it was nice to have someone outside of their family to be friends with.

"I hope so," Loz agreed, mashing some of the stuff between his fingers. "Wonder when Alex is gonna get here."

"Well, ya said he was a smart guy, right? He prolly won't get lost." They'd managed to find their way here, so this Alex guy shouldn't get lost.

Until then, sitting here was kinda nice.

"You're probably right," Loz agreed. Well, at least he'd stopped panting. But his voice was still heavy with weariness. He leaned his head against the wall and closed his eyes, hoping that he'd regain his strength by the time Alex got here.

"We can just wait here for him ta show up," Beelzemon said confidently, before falling silent again. He'd ended up leaning slightly against Loz without realizing it, relaxing while they waited. Sure, there might be monsters around, for all he knew, but if there were he could just make sure to draw them away and get them going after the costume guy. Sounds like a plan... How good it was wasn't something he'd try to figure out.

It felt like they'd been waiting for hours. When was Alex gonna get here? Loz had regained some of his strength by now. His limbs no longer felt like a million pounds and he was breathing regularly, but he still felt a little tired.

"Wonder what's keeping-" His sentense was cut off by his own startled cry when the sound of a large explosion shook the building.

"Woah!" Beelzemon scrambled to his feet, looking towards the direction the explosion came from. "Sounds like someone's still got some fight to 'em!" Probably another one of those brainwashed types. Still, that one felt big. Like a proper fight.

He went over to the Sun Room door and peeked in, not wanting costume guy to hit him with the bulletin again. Then he went back to Loz, excited. "Ceiling's almost come down. Wouldn' wanna be the guy who has to clean that up."

Loz's eyes widened, "Really?" He managed to stand up, though he was still a pretty shakey and peeked in as well. "Whoa," The Remnant whispered in awe. He wondered what had happened to cause that.

He went back over to Beelzemon and sat back down against the wall. He was about to say something when the voice on the speakers came up again. He hadn't really been paying attention when it was spewing numbers earlier, but this message he couldn't help but listen to.

He heard a familiar voice, and its dying breaths of 'Mother...'

Loz looked at the ceiling and breathed, "...Kadaj..?"

Okay, weird stuff had been happening all night, but this was a new level of strange. What was going on with the intercom thing? It was really creepy this time.

The weird seemed to be catching, too. He looked over at Loz in confusion. "Yer brother? Where?" ...Why was he looking at the ceiling?

"I thought I heard him..." Loz reached upward, as if that would make his brother come out of the ceiling.

Then his skin began to hurt slightly, which confused Loz even further. But the pain was also kinda familiar.

Suddenly he was looking up at Big Brother, and he was in terrible pain and fading away. It lasted only a second, but it was enough to make the Remnant put a hand to his head. What was going on?
