The beam of his flashlight didn't go very far, and all Rolo could tell was that this looked vaguely familiar - perhaps

Once the crisp cleanliness of the outdoor air hit his senses, his muscles relaxed, if only minutely. A lingering thirst would stay with him as long as he was surrounded by humans, but even blood in an area this large would affect him little. That was a small bit of comfort in an entirely uncomfortable night -
Until the screech hit his senses, and like his sense of smell, it made the sensation twice as painful. Like Jane's power, it inched and wormed its way into his mind, splitting his head open with the frequency of its pitch.
He had been through much worse, this was nothing.
Edward didn't bother trying to cover his ears, knowing it wouldn't help. Instead he dug his fingernails into his temples, giving himself a simpler pain to focus on.
"There's a shed," he said through grit teeth, only guessing as to what the building across the field was. Though the darkness was thick, the small shack's walls were white, making it easier for him to see with what paltry light the sky offered. "Across the field. Should we run for it?"

Possible. But not probable.
But his thoughts echoed his companion's: this situation was worse than what they had escaped.
"Fast," he said, but he gathered it wouldn't be fast enough. Something was different about the girl the words had come from; while he "heard" a quiet static from Jun and the other humans, this girl was completely blank. Absolutely nothing - she might as well have not been there.
"But we'll be trapped." At least they were near the door back inside, though going back there was hardly comforting.
The look back at the door allowed him to see something else: two teenagers vaulting one another over a wall to the right. It wasn't too tall; even if Jun was much shorter than himself, he could get the boy over and follow after. "That wall. I could get you over it and climb over myself. We can avoid whatever the hell is back there, too."

I told you to go back. Go back to your rooms. Do you want to be killed?

He watched the two teenagers successfully scale the wall, the girl seeming to lose interest in the two others she had been talking to directly, drifting over to another pair. That seemed... strange. Though she was clearly threatening them, whatever potential attack she may have used didn't occur. Had they said something to her to make her stop?
No matter - this was their chance.
"While she's busy," he encouraged, making his move to the wall. It wouldn't be too hard - it was taller than him, but not by more than a foot. Jun was quite a bit shorter, so Edward estimated he wouldn't be hard to lift, either. "I'll give you a boost over." Kneeling down by the wall, he signaled his hand, hurry.
