Sora's thoughts on the matter were pretty similar to Akihiko's. He didn't usually wish bad on people, but he had made certain exceptions in the past and he could make further exceptions in this situation. He had a high tolerance for forgiving people's mistakes (he'd been talking with Demyx, hadn't he?), but sometimes people pushed him too far and he couldn't feel for them much anymore. Landel had put them all here, killed some of his friends and caused others to vanish. If the zombies had gotten to him, it was only what he deserved.

Perking up at the mention of something he didn't recognize (Dark Hour? that sounded like it could easily involve the Heartless), he glanced at Akihiko curiously.

"Yeah, they are weird," he said in response to the other boy's comment about the intercom. "I've been here a while and I've never heard anything like that before." Lydia usually made announcements in Mr. Landel's absence, but maybe she was busy taking care of him now?

"But, uhh, what's the Dark Hour?" he asked with a tilt of his head. "I've never heard of that before, I don't think..."

"Right," he said. "Doesn't the head nurse usually take care of that kind of thing when the head doc's out of commission for a while? So it's a little weird that neither of them seem to be around."

He was actually a little glad for the subject change, though it was once again weird for Akihiko to even think about the Dark Hour as anything positive. It still wasn't, not really, but...they'd deal with it when they got home.

"Well," he began, "since you've been here a while, I'm sure you know how weird time can get. The Dark Hour's one of those weird time things, but it seems specific to where my friends and I are from. The easiest way to explain it is that it's kind of like Nightshift here in a way, only instead of lasting the whole night, it's only during the hour between midnight and 12:01 in the morning. Things change - they're darker and scarier - and monsters come out."

Akihiko paused for a second, trying to explain the rest of it. "The thing is...not everyone can see it. Only people with a certain power are even awake during that time - everyone else is able to sleep through it." That wasn't exactly the case, but it was easier to put it like that than it was to say that everyone changed into coffins.

As much as they might wonder about what was going on with the intercom stuff, Sora knew that they weren't going to get anywhere. They would just have to wait and see how things played out, but he personally doubted that the Head Doctor was gone for good or anything like that.

Sora had more or less caught his breath by the time Akihiko started to explain what the Dark Hour was, but he stayed in place out of politeness as the other boy spoke. He was able to follow along well enough until Akihiko basically implied that there was actually a whole hour in the space of what should have been one minute. How did that even work? Still, time made even less sense here...

"So, you're one of the people who can see it?" he asked, since there probably wasn't any other way that Akihiko could know about it. "I mean, do the people who sleep through it not know about it?" That had to be pretty weird for those few people who did know about it, like being privy to a secret that no one else would even believe them about. Which was kind of like being told you were crazy and that nightshift didn't exist by the nurses.

"Looks like you were kind of ready for this place before you even got here," he said with a good-natured smile.
