Nightshift 42: Recreational Field

[from here]

Alkaid had jogged ahead a little bit, needing to clear her head of all the stuffiness that had seemed to build up inside it. Yeah, she was just as angry at the Head Doctor as she had been yesterday, and the day before that. And, hey, the day before that. He was the kind of guy who you could really grow to hate.

Sure that the super-serious, tall pointy-eared guy was following behind her - after all, he didn't seem like the kind of guy who would tell a lie, and would give you like a bazillion logical reasons why he wouldn't lie in some particular situation, especially about following someone, of all things! - she called back to him.

"Forget your possessions! All that stuff's been taken away, and it'll be a miracle if you get it back. Try asking! They'll just laugh at you! Better to find your friends. That's the most important thing."

She started jogging in place, really glad for fresh air. Finally. It felt like she'd been inside for a long, long time, even though the last time she did should have just been yesterday.

"Hey, what's your name, anyway?"

spock, venom, alkaid
