Something was wrong. Hitsugaya could feel it in his soul. The sky darkened and an ominous wind passed through the town, heralding something sinister. Before his very eyes, the whole place underwent a horrific transformation, particularly the town residents. They had become monsters with decaying skin, revealing muscle and bone beneath ( Read more... )

Kenpachi had stayed in the bar all day, finding company in the dark, rowdy room that didn't seem to be present elsewhere. If he was going to be bored anywhere, it might as well be in a room full of grouchy, semi-disorderly patrons. The nurses would prevent him from getting in a fight, but if there was a chance he might get to watch a fight, well, it was better than nothing.

As night began to descend on the town, however, he noticed a change. Not only in the lighting and the presence of rotting, decaying creatures, but also in the very details around the room. Weird, but possibly fun.

One of these walking corpses began shambling towards him as he sat at the bar. Without bothering to check with the grouchy bartender (assuming he was even alive now), Kenpachi jumped over the counter and grabbed two heavy looking bottles of vodka. One to fight with, one to drink with, he reasoned. Rangiku would probably appreciate the booze, though he wasn't entirely sure where she had run off to. If rumors of her were true, she was probably already in the storeroom, grabbing all the free booze she could get her hands on.

Quickly he jumped back over the counter and swung his vodka bottle as hard as he could at the zombie's face. The bottle broke on impact, but the damage was significant enough to knock the zombie back into three more of its companions. Fortunately for the zombies, it was dark enough in this seedy bar that he didn't notice they were slowly getting back up off the floor, so instead he turned his attention to the streets. Time to find a real weapon, he thought with a grin.

The door, to his irritation, had already been blocked by a table...potentially due to the instructions of one Captain Hitsugaya Toshiro. The pansy was already looking to stop the fighting for them without even bothering to think about the amazing amounts of fun it would spell, and knowing what he did about the diminutive captain, the moron had probably sealed it with his Kidou as well.

"Yo, Hitsugaya," Kenpachi shouted over the din at the boy who seemed to have found himself a human rifle. How lame. "You going to be a coward and hide all night?"

He didn't bother to wait for a response, but instead smashed one of the nearby windows. If he couldn't get out by the door, he'd just make his own damn exit.
