The claws thing had been bugging Scourge ever since Depth Charge had used them to pick him out for intimidation for reasons that were unclear and ideally would become clear with as little violence as possible. He'd settled on it being some kind of alternate universe thing, but since nobody else had ever heard of him due to circumstances Scourge really didn't want to think about he wasn't going to find out unless he asked Depth Charge himself.
Scourge wasn't that curious. But if his nails were going to be that much of a flag for people looking to bully him, he wanted to do something about it.
The tracker looked at the back of his hand, splaying his fingers as he finished licking the remains of his lunch off his thumb. They were definitely due to be sharpened, although they weren't nearly as effective a weapon here as they were back home. A few dark smudges of spider blood had congealed in that fleshy place where nail met skin and underneath the tips, something that he hadn't had to deal with when his claws were simply finger extensions, and the paint was flaking off in a few places to reveal the soft peach color that most humans had on their nails. Scourge liked his hot pink, it made him feel intimidating. But if it was going to get him this much teasing and grief it would have to go.
The "beauty salon hair and nails" had a lot of pictures of firm, sharp nails of a more human color in the window, and from the pairing of words with images Scourge figured that "manicure" was the treatment he was looking for. He did find it odd that nearly all of the pictures were of thin, smiling females, none of whom looked particularly intimidating. It might be just a model thing, but why not look like they were about to use their new weaponry rather than just smiling genially. Some of them did have paint the color of red human fuel on their claws, that must count for something, but Scourge made a mental note to emphasize sharpness in his order.
He nudged the door open and entered the shop, nose wrinkling slightly at the slight odor of strange chemicals.
