The nurse had come for Edgeworth shortly thereafter, and he'd requested to be taken to the library. He was in no mood for company, especially not as worried as he was about his rival. The sedation had mostly worn off, and his brain was once again working quickly. What he wanted to do, to try and distract himself from the worry, was look for clues in the pages of the books - perhaps a patient had made a note in one of them.
He frowned as he entered the room and noticed the three other people that were already there. He'd quietly hoped no one would be there.
At least the others were all quiet, absorbed in their reading, he thought. The prosecutor didn't disturb the room's quiet atmosphere as he selected a few classics from the shelves and took them to a corner of the room.
He wasn't interested in the books' content - the books he'd chosen were all books he had read in his high school and college literature classes. Great Expectations happened to be at the top of the pile, so he started skimming quickly, looking for anything different in the pages.
