DAY 42 NOON: BATH AND BEAUTY SHOP

Jul 05, 2009 19:05

For the most part, Lockdown continued to simply give nothing but passing glances to the buildings in town. However, there was one that caught his interest soon enough. A 'Bath and Body' shop of some sort. Lockdown remembered his time in the showers, and the various concoctions he'd seen. Perhaps this shop contained something he could use for his ( Read more... )

Beatrix had no real need to be in this particular shop, but she decided to stop in as she passed by to apply some lotion from one of the tester bottles onto her hands. She still hadn't found that candy maker, but with all the extra staff, there were a lot of people about. Perhaps she'd find him later.

Working the lotion onto her calloused hands, the Bride took in its scent - citrus. Not too bad for overprices lotion. She glanced over at the large tattooed man in the shop with her briefly, as she put just a tiny bit more lotion into her hands. She turned to use the nearby little mirror to gingerly apply the lotion to her face, careful over the butterfly strips over the cut on her cheek.

She may be a killer, but she was still a woman; she had no desire to smell of her occupation.

Lockdown glanced up at the one who had just entered the shop. At first, he payed her no attention. However, there was a feeling in the back of his processor that he'd seen her somewhere before.

He stole another quick glance at her and realized who she was. There were few times when Lockdown bothered remembering faces, and he only bothered when it was an ally, client, or someone who had impressed him. This human fell into the last category. It was that female who had accompanied HK-47 last night; the one who had tried to stab his windshield and whom, Lockdown had deduced, had injured Blitzwing. She was definatly on his list of "Do not mess with".

Lockdown kept his face towards the bottles while also keeping her in the corner of his optic, noticing how she applied the lotion and taking note that unlike most of the other products here, lotion did not need water.

She was being watched - an instinct she'd honed many years ago.

At first she thought it was the clerk, but the girl manning the counter didn't seem particularly interested in either her or the tattooed man. She shifted just a bit before the mirror to get a better look at the reflection of what was behind her. No one newly had entered the store. That left the tattooed man.

"You don't seem like the kind that would be interested in cosmetics," she casually said to the man as she smoothed the lotion over the T-zone of her face.

Was she on to him? Maybe. Oh well, it wasn't like he was doing anything wrong, since she was acting so pleasantly. Still, the bounty hunter knew it would be best to keep his guard up around this one.

"It's not really for me," Lockdown answered. "I just need a little something for a buddy of mine."

The clerk nodded in Snake's direction. She had a funny feeling about him, but then again, it was probably nothing. She waved as he turned to leave, calling out a bright "You have a good day!" in his direction.
