Day 22: Shift 3, Sun Room

Feb 27, 2007 07:24

Renji probably would have just kept sleeping at the table in the cafeteria if someone had let him. He was just so tired (thanks to the drugs) and really didn't feel good either (thanks to the drugs?). But, as was inevitable, a nurse showed up and shook him, none-too-gently, into a state that resembled wakefulness if not closely inspected ( Read more... )

"If your name was Dark Nation, I believe I could."

Lifting a hand to rub at his eyes, Rufus restrained a sigh at the sound of the Head Doctor's voice. The man needed to die. Repeatedly. And then whatever was left over to be burnt down to ashes.

"I don't believe we have met either and it seems like we won't have time for proper introductions. I am Rufus Shinra although they insist on calling me 'Christopher Marlowe'. I am pleased to meet you."

He couldn't resist touching a fingertip to one of those ears just to see if they were real. For a moment, he was struck with a homesickness of sorts, odd considering that Dark Nation had died years ago at Strife's hand. Perhaps when he got back to his own place and time... another wouldn't be bad after all.

"I do apologize, but as you can see, we're being summoned. I am pleased to have met you. You remind me of someone I miss."

Giving the catboy one of his rare smiles, Rufus let himself be led out by one of the nurses. With luck seeing a person who was a cat of all things as well would be a good omen.

Seimei smiled as well. "I will seek you out. My name is Seimei. Recall it well, Rufus." He lifted a hand, deciding to remain in the Sun Room for the next shift.

Rufus glanced over his shoulder as he was led away. For once, he found himself cursing the shift change. He would have liked to stay, to find out more about this person or creature. This Seimei was the first that had caught his attention the entire time he had been here at Landel's.

"I'll remember it."

That in itself had to be good fortune for bearing this 'visit' idea.
