The doctor smiled to himself as he made the last adjustments to the chair. It was a little unusual to have a patient sitting completely upright; he would normally prefer to have his patients reclined a bit, but this was a special case. A very special one indeed.
He flipped through the patient's file again. This would be a lot of fun, he decided, letting out a short laugh. Oh, yes. Tonight was a hunting night, and he was aiming for eagles. A shame this one seemed to be a bit shy, but that was easily fixed. Oh, yes. And the boy could certainly stand to be more confident and less timid, no? Yes, he certainly could.
Now that the chair was finished, and his patient strapped down, he made a few more tweaks to the most integral part of the experimental equipment. It looked innocent enough, like any other virtual reality device or head-mounted display, but this one was anything but. He chuckled to himself as he checked to make sure it was ready.
With the device ready to go, he just needed to wait for his patient to wake up.
