Recluse had used his uneventful dinner as time to hammer out and sharpen a new blade for Scourge, and do maintenance on the rest of his own weapons, then changing into his black Arachnos officer's uniform, ready for the night. Then, it had simply been a matter of waiting, impatiently as always, for the doors to unlock

All right then, he'd simply find a way once they arrived. He would not sing. They could not force him to.
...Well, that did not take so long, as he soon found M53. X knocked his flashlight against the door, being the gentleman he was. After all, he could not chastise II for never doing so and then barge in himself. It would be hypocritical of him.

With a sigh, he put his pillow over his head and called out, "Go away, I'm not here!"
Reply
"Somehow, I do not believe that."

While Xigbar didn't raise the pillow or anything, his voice did lighten up a little bit. "Heh, too smart for me, I guess. So what are you doin' here?"

Instead, X sat on the side of the bed and looked downward at the other Nobody. "Is it not obviously? I happen to be returning a favor."

Oh no, X had not forgotten what Xigbar had done when he was injured. Revenge was always a dish best served cold and all that nonsense.

Which meant that he offered a bit of a glare to Luxord. "I'm not going to save you if something comes 'round to take a bite. Ditchin' you at the first sign."

He could have sworn he missed them. He never had cared one way or the other about his fellow Organization members, but they were at least familiar; much like a distant family who never cared for one another, but were still driven to watch their joined goal succeed and stay together.
Well, most of them. Every family had its share of bad seeds.
That was all in the past, as it was. Luxord simply shot a smile at his superior and moved to the door.

M53! Demyx had been right; it hadn't been too hard to find, and it was probably a good idea to know Xigbar's room number, anyway. (He'd have to ask Luxord what his was sometime.) He knocked on the door, hoping they hadn't gone anywhere - he wouldn't really put it past them. Or, come to think of it, Luxord's giving him the wrong room number entirely just to mess with him... "Xigbar? Luxord?"

What he did have to complain about was hearing a very, very familiar voice calling for him. What did it have to be Demyx now, of all times? Xigbar rolled his eye and said, in a stage whisper to Luxord, "Stay quiet and maybe he'll think we're gone."

...Sort of.
"So sorry, IX; my hands are busy. I couldn't possibly open the door for you." Yes, he knew how strange that sounded. No, he was not going to elaborate.

Ugh. "Can't talk," Xigbar groaned with a wide sweep of his arm, "oh, the pain. Bloody murder. X, I don't think I can make it!"

Going with the act, however, the Gambler swung around to face Xigbar, effectively blocking IX from seeing him, and began gently lowering him on the bed again. "You could have told me this before, my love. You know I've only your well-being in mind!" It was said in a surprisingly genuine and sweet manner, regardless of whether it actually was or not (learning towards not, as the second IX left, he would be back to dragging II's sorry carcass to the chapel). Question his acting skills, will you, Demyx? Ha.

Watching Luxord fussing over Xigbar, and Xigbar making a fuss, and all of it probably all so they could ignore him - that did settle one thing for Demyx, once and for all. He wasn't going to leave with them. It'd just be this scene, played out over and over again in a hundred different ( ... )
