Haseo's steps were heavy with the weight of righteous anger as he was escorted into the Sun Room, his posture so sullen and reluctant you could almost hear the nostalgic cry of an electric guitar. He was seething, and though perhaps it was a bit harder to be intimidating while wearing the uniform of an insane asylum and flanked by a bored-looking

Misa sighed as she made her way into the Sun Room after breakfast. Fortunately, she had been able to persuade her nurse to let her take an apple from the cafeteria - she had actually agreed easily, saying that dear 'Miranda' could stand to put on a few pounds. Misa didn't particularly agree, but whatever worked so she could get Ryuk an apple was fine by her.
She took a seat on one of the couches, and waited. She didn't know whether she was looking for a shinigami or a person, after all, and he did say he'd come find her.

Ryuk found Misa without any trouble and stopped in front of her, grinning. He just kinda hoped she took him seriously about the hugging thing.
"Hey!"

She winked as it flew in his direction. "When you're done with that, can I ask you some stuff?"
Reply
"You gotta be careful around here," he told her, looking out for any witnesses to the exchange.
"Ask me, alright? I can't eat it until it's safe."

She didn't give him much time to reply to that before lowering her own voice. "What do you know about...well, what happened to Light, and...well. My eyes aren't working the way they should, I don't think. Is there a way to fix that?"
Reply
"Huh? Light. You know what happened. he w- Oh wait. Uh. Whaddaya remember last from, you know, before this place?"

The slight pout on her face faded into a deep frown as she listened to those questions. "Well, like I was telling Matsu this morning, the last thing I remember is meeting Light and Ryuga at his university, and then being kidnapped... they kept on asking me questions, the weirdo stalkers, but I didn't say a word. And then I woke up here, and apparently Light was here but isn't anymore? So what happened, really?"

"Waoh, really? That sucks," he said. She missed out on LOADS. but at least he didn't have to explain to her that Light ended up being a pathetic whiny mess at the end. She still had that to come. Not that she got to see it. Maybe Ryuk could help that...
"Yeah, I never talked to him, but I saw him. Had way more time on his lifespan, so he probably ain't dead," he shrugged. The 'probably' came from the fact that the Death Note didn't seem to work here and that he'd seen some pretty confusing life spans.
"So. What's up with your eyes? Maybe we should try and make the trade again," he offered helpfully.

"Huh? I don't get it, Ryuk. Why?" Misa cocked her head to one side, clearly confused. "Did I miss something? I mean, besides getting a new manager in the future?" She blinked, unintentionally batting her eyelashes. "And...what do you mean you never talked to Light? Why wouldn't you?"
Misa's confusion was turning into the same kind of upset that it had bloomed into at breakfast, and for a second time tears sprang to her eyes. "And what do you mean 'probably ain't dead'? He...he couldn't..."
She took a deep, shaky breath. "I...I don't know. But I'm not seeing the right names, I don't think."

"Fine, Bob," she said, following Ryuk's pointed finger. "You mean the guy with the spiky hair by the bulletin board? I don't think his name's actually Herb Appleby. And it told me Matsu's name was Aoyama Tanaka when I know that's not right. You see what I mean now?"

Ryuk wiped some apple asliva from his chin and looked at the guys name again.
"Who the hell'd put herbs and apples together?" he muttered mournfully. "Guy's name is Phoenix Wright. And I'm pretty sure Matsu's real name is Dumbass."

Oh. Right. "Um. About that. Well..." Misa dropped her voice to a whisper. "Misa-Misa gave Light her notebook. Do you know anything about what happened?"
She looked sidelong at the guy. "Well, yeah. Now you see how they're not working right. I don't really know why."

"We should find out what happened to his stuff," Ryuk suggested. Maybe Light's one worked. "Huh? What? Er here? No," he said, quickly. He hoped she wasn't gonna bug him about, you know, stuff.... But maybe Ryuk was smarter! Matsuda hadn't managed to get anything outta him yet. Mikami was the only one that really did and he was gone.
"...on the tv they usually just hit someone in the head real hard. You want we should try that?" he asked, sincerely and...completely without malice or even eagerness. Just mild curiosity. He was already looking around for something to hit her with.

"I still don't like it," she said, going back to her previous line of thought. "But maybe finding his stuff isn't a bad idea. Would it be somewhere upstairs, you think? Or..."

Ryuk hadn't even thought of going somewhere. he looked over his shoulder and pointed at the bulletin. "I was just gonna ask on there or something. Maybe his roommate kept some of the stuff?"
