The level above seemed as sparsely populated as the level below, and while this boded well for his chances of finding anything still worth scavenging for, it also meant any trouble came with slightly higher stakes. This deterred him roughly long

This section of the institute was also bereft of people, making Takasugi even more wary of his next steps. There had to be a reason why it was so empty -perhaps an unknown creature prowling around. He would have to inquire about it later. For now, he was left to his own devices, sticking close to the shadows and treading lightly, his eye focused on any sudden movements. He could see someone up ahead, a lone figure also wandering around. He didn't have any visible weapons, though, appearing to have the same intent as Takasugi judging by his body language.
Takasugi would have to bypass him to get to the rooms further ahead and start checking them, and since the man had made no move to engage physically or otherwise, he continued along just as silently.

She paused a little ways down the hall, glancing back to make sure that they were still with her.
"Just a little bit further." She aimed her flashlight at the adjoining hallway near the stairs, and nodded toward it. She remembered that the janitor's closet was on the left, patient possessions on the right, but there were several other rooms, and she didn't have her map with her to look at. They'd have to see how many had signs, and guess from there.
"Do we need to take it slower?" she asked, looking over at Endrance.

The move was perhaps odd. He held no obligations to either individual (or most anyone for that matter), and it certainly wasn't in his job to protect civilians unless directed...
But direction no longer mattered, now did it?
Not wanting to interrupt the ongoing conversation, he remained quiet. Instead, the boy took to observing his surroundings. Dark and rustic, like everything else. There were others roaming the hallway, but they appeared occupied.

Another identical hallway, with two other halls leading off it. He really needed to get himself a copy of one of those maps so he actually knew which rooms would be worth investigating, rather than wasting time checking out each one. God this was a pain in the ass. Wandering around in the dark, wondering if a monster or a meta was going to decide to try and punch his ticket again.
What the hell, it could always be worse. Bruce could be with him.
What was Bruce doing now? He had to be up to something, he was always up to something. And that went double in a place like this. Was he working alone or had he decided to team up with the members of the JLA that were here too? Maybe he even had found a way to trick Harley and the rest of the Arkham lot into doing his dirty work. Not that Jason cared what Bruce did or who he chose to do it with. He just hoped the bastard was worried, wondering what Jason was going to do. Hell, maybe he was planning how to take him out - maybe Bruce would arrange for someone to kill Jason again ( ... )

Well, they were getting closer. Letting his eyes slip closed for a moment to make it easier to mentally focus on the image of the map in his mind, Ken figured it should be at the end of the narrower hallway just ahead.
Stupid fucking narrow hallways.

The stairs they needed to take to the first floor were straight ahead. Well, they weren't getting any younger.

Touya reached the top of the stairs and looked around. So this was the famed second floor, huh? Didn't look like much. Looked a lot like the first floor, to be honest.
He turned to Yue. "Now which way? I'm not sure where we're going so..." Touya looked a little sheepish. He hadn't memorized the map or anything, so he hoped Yue knew where they were going.

"That direction. There are several storage rooms, according to the map," he replied, and set off with only a brief glance to make certain Touya was following.
