Night 40: F01-F10 Hallway

Apr 17, 2009 21:54

[ From here. Outside F3]Because she needed to get to Orihime and Shiki's room before either of them left, Ururu had practically run the short distance down the halls. Normally she might not, since she knew better than to run inside. Tessai-san didn't like it when Jinta-kun did that at the shop especially, since something usually ended up broken ( Read more... )

Seiya woke up feeling dazed, and wondered if it were possibly something in the food... but she was sure she'd missed meals in her extended nap after breakfast, left to sprawl out in the Sun Room with just enough waking time to glance over the bulletin board between being marched in and marched out by nurses. It made her a bit nervous; the last few times, people had disappeared on her. But she was running out of people to have disappear. Wally, or Ami...

As soon as the fuzziness had receded enough, she jumped out of bed to hurry and get dressed for the night. Being a little late was one thing, but it wouldn't do on a first trip out to leave them waiting too long. At least she'd woken up at all... Once equipped, she hurried out the door and down the now-familiar hallways.

Kagura waved goodbye to Seiya, feeling a little dazed herself. She gathered up her things after her roommate left and waited for Bridget. Hopefully her report would be enough. She wasn't sure about either side in the bulletin board wars, but Porky had been very... abrupt and kind of scary to deal with in person. She could see why Lelouch might not want to be stuck owing a man like that any favors. She was also pretty sure she didn't want to join the club.

She picked up her pole and her flashlight, grateful, once again, for Renamon's help. Maybe she could see what kind of clubs people like Falis or Renamon were in tomorrow? They were both really nice and helped a lot of people.

Kagura found herself glancing up at the door every now and again, waiting to see if Bridget was there. It'd only been a few minutes and it had to take a while to get from one block to the other, but it didn't keep her from worrying.

(From here.)

Bridget slowed his run to a fast trot until he finally made it to F10. It still felt strange to go out without Roger, but until he could get his friend up and running again, it just wasn't feasable to carry him at night.

Coming to a stop at the door, he knocked, not wanting to just barge on in.

"Miss Sohma?"

Kagura looked up when there was a knock at the door. She was almost ready to head out again, but bounced to her feet to greet the visitor. When she saw that it was Bridget, she let out a tiny sigh of relief.

"I'm glad you came," she said, opening the door a little wider. "Did... did everything go alright today? I wasn't able to find out very much."

Bridget shook his head. "No," he admitted. "I'm sorry Miss Sohma. I wasn't able to find out anything really either. Though Mr. Armand said he could use our services soon for his idea. He wants information couriers."

He didn't know if it would be something Kagura would be interested in, but the idea and offer were there.

She felt a little bit better knowing she wasn't the only one who'd made only a small amount of progress. She'd seen the bulletin from his friend though, and the idea of using people to pass information sounded like a really good one actually. It probably wouldn't be as dangerous as exploring, and it could be really useful!

"Ah- that's... It sounds like a good idea," she nodded. "I... I'd like to hear a little more about what we would do, but I would love to be able to help more people." And to feel useful. Even if it was because of something small.

Bridget smiled happily. "He would love to have our help," he said. "We can talk to him tomorrow about it, if you'd like."

Bridget wanted to be useful as well, and working with Kagura would be nice too.

"I'd like that," she nodded, a hint of a smile finally appearing. It felt kind of nice to be included in as one of Bridget's friends.

"So then, I thought maybe for tonight, it would help um, if we found you something to fight with. It... it doesn't seem fair that I'm the only one," she offered. She'd made note of a couple places during the day that could have useful things. The equipment shed outside wasn't even very far away.

"Would that... would it be okay?"

Bridget blinked, surprised at the offer and oddly pleased to see even a small smile. "Really? I, um,I'm not very skilled with many different weapons or anything," he said, embarrassed. "But, if you think it will be good, we can do that."

Had she said something wrong? What if he was offended? Did he think she thought he couldn't fight well? Really, she just wanted to make sure he had something to protect him, but maybe she'd said too much...

"Ah-, n-no, if you don't want to- I'm sorry, I didn't mean..." she said, fidgeting and looking somewhat embarrassed herself.

"I just... I didn't want Bridget to... to get hurt... that's all."

Bridget blushed slightly and shook his head. "No! I think it would be a good idea. I'm just not good with a lot of kinds of weapons. I.. I think we should do that."

He offered a bright and warm smile.

It was kind of confusing. Hadn't Bridget claimed to be a bounty hunter? Lockdown said he was one too, but he seemed a lot closer to how one would imagine one to be. At least Bridget wasn't upset though.

"An... well, we could find one that you're better at maybe. Or... or if you don't mind, maybe I could show you how to use some of the other ones?" And why did the thought of helping him like that make her heart beat a little faster? It shouldn't be any big deal!

Bridget nodded happily. "Really? That would be wonderful Miss Sohma!" He clasped his hands together to keep from touching Kagura. He remembered that hugging at night was a Bad Idea.

Bridget was a bounty hunter all right, but he wasn't anything like the others. It was what made him stand out and made other underestimate him. He was dangerous in his own right, but weaponry? He wasn't too good with.

The fact that Bridget was so happy to receive her training only made it harder to talk and even more difficult to meet Bridget's eyes.

"Ah- w-well, of course, I don't mind at all, f-for Bridget."

She took a couple steps toward the door, hoping the night air would cool her cheeks a bit. "We should... ah- probably get moving though if... if we're going to make it before night ends."

Bridget blushed, happy to be thought of at all and moved as well, checking to make sure his flashlight still worked before they left.

"Where should we go Miss Sohma," he asked.
