As he got closer to the room, Teisel couldn't help but worry a little about the possibility of running into Van. Or rather, Van was probably worried about the possibility of running into him.

Yeah, that made more sense.

Here at last. It seemed there was someone else stalking in the hallways, though it was not Grell, so X went back to carefully walking in the shadows without a sound. Hopefully the boy had not heard the singing...

Now it was time to wait once more. Hopefully Ms. Sutcliff would not take too long.

He was still limping a bit, but Grell tried his best to cover it up. If he still had all his powers, his hand and his ankle would have healed by now, but unfortunately, he did not and they still hurt. That didn't mean he was about to let Luxord see that, though. A lady had her pride and Grell had more than any lady he knew. He'd already thrown off the splint and left it in the hall in favor of keeping his gloves on, so why skimp on the shoes?

Standing at the entrance to his hall, Grell scanned the shadows until he saw one that moved. Walking over, Grell smirked and put a hand on his hip. The pillowcase was still in his other hand, hanging loosely from his fingers. "I hope I didn't keep you too long. My roommate had an unexpected visitor and I had to sneak out."

Evidently, he did hear his singing, as Luxord swiftly received a face full of flashlight despite his attempts at stealth. "Think nothing of it," he said as the boy moved past him, attempting to blink away the sudden bright spots plaguing his vision. Ugh.

On the good side of things, however, Grell was swift in his arrival, entering just as the other boy exited the opposite doors. "I will never mind waiting for you, my lady," the Gambler lied with a pleasant smile. "Whatever did you have in mind?"

Luxord said such beautiful lies. He could tell he'd been bored, but then Grell was never one to worry about time and all. When he showed up was usually when other people realized they'd reached the end of their rope, so he was certain most didn't mind him being a minute or two behind. Will, however, usually had words for him on the rare occasions that Grell didn't meet the schedule. Having words being the polite term for 'kicking someone in the face.'

Smiling pleasantly, Grell moved forward and swung his pillowcase nonchalantly over his right shoulder. "I know it's a bit early, but there's a chance to get back at the rapscallion who hit you last night - if indirectly, and in a much worse way than he could ever imagine. He has that boyfriend of his coming through here to 'nurse him back to health' tonight. I thought a little bit of play might make the evening worth a few laughs. Then we could move on to..." Grell smirked and winked at Luxord. "Better things. Are you game?"

Ah, so it was to do with this Clark. How decidedly cruel, to go after the loved-one of another. What better way to get back at a person than scarring them emotionally? Simply killing someone out of revenge was mundane, truly. If anything, that might have set him apart from the other Organization members. The other members would never hesitate to kill someone for being in their way; Luxord would much prefer to have them suffer and suffer forever. Time was cruel, and all that.

No wonder X enjoyed the God's company. Didn't Time and Death go hand and hand?

So Luxord chuckled at Grell's words and extended his arm to the lady as he had the night before. Tonight would prove just as interesting, if anything. "Now, now. Must you even ask?"

The Heartless man seemed to know exactly what Grell was talking about and the death god sighed happily. That was exactly why he liked him. Luxord faked emotions so well, but beneath it all he lacked a heart and that blackness that sat in its place was ever so alluring. His penchant for death was just a plus. One day, Grell hoped Luxord's false affections would turn elsewhere and then Grell could spend his days pursuing him. A woman always fought harder when her beloved was aloof, right?

Going up to take Luxord's arm, Grell rested his head on the blond's shoulder and smiled up at him. "A lady mustn't be too forward, don't you think? If I were to just assume things, well, that's just not right." Being this close to Luxord did give him a bit of a headache, but he'd put up with it for the fun that Luxord brought. He could tell at this distance that there was no heartbeat and that Luxord was, in all respects, supposed to be dead. A man who had his heart consumed - how grimly poetic. "But we do have a bit to wait, so whatever ( ... )

Grell needed not to worry about that; Luxord's attention always turned elsewhere, guaranteed. It was a simple fact of life.

"I suppose so, yes." He chuckled again, shaking his head. "It appears being in this asylum has lowered my expectations, slightly. What a pleasure to have a true, upstanding lady by my side after all this time."

The Nobody wrapped his arm around Grell's and smiled down at him, seemingly pleased with the close proximity. He even moved his other hand to gently brush some of those red strands from the God's face. "I am most certain we will think of something, my love." He paused for a moment, however, eying Grell's hand and lack of splint. "Is your hand feeling better?"

"One should never lower their standards, Luxord," Grell purred into his ear, turning about so he could face the other man and smile at him. Luxord did have pretty eyes after all and looking into their harsh color was just what Grell needed to send a chill up his spine. No matter how good people were at faking emotions, there was always a bit of themselves lurking in their eyes. When Grell looked at Luxord, however, he saw nothing but a void and that was appealing. An arm settled around him and Grell blushed ( ... )
