"No kidding," Kurt agreed with a laugh. "I think I'm the least likely person to attack anybody randomly. Though suddenly being with a bunch of people I don't know has limited my possibilities in the joking department. I don't think some people would like a fuzzy blue elf jumping them from behind in the dark. Even if I just wanted to make them jump."
Kurt looked down at his own shirt, pulling the front out so he could look at it better. "Might be nice to get my uniform back..." he mused. "It might make me look a little more, y'know, heroic!" Kurt said, straightening up a little and puffing his chest out. "Instead of Monster-Wearing-A-Smiley-Face-T-Shirt." He did miss his uniform, as close-fitting as it was. It gave him a sense of purpose, put him in the mindset that it was Hero Time.
"I'm not worried about it..." Kurt said, looking guilty. He hadn't heard his neighbor complaining about a missing sheet last night, so they must have replaced it. Kurt hoped that they hadn't needed it last night. "...I stole one last night, and I think it came back... I should probably tell the guy, though."
The frown changed back to a small smile as Kurt laughed. He was surprised that such a devout Christian would even fight at all, but he supposed the man could justify it as helping the innocent, a noble cause if ever there was one. "Ah, once people get around ta seein' ya as ya are, yer'll be back ta yer ol' self in no time." Of course, he didn't entirely know what this Nightcrawler's 'old self' actually was.
"Yeah, uniforms're good, bub, bu' in a way, wearin' whatcha are now'd prob'ly make people less likely ta freak if they saw ya. Ain' heard o' any o' tha monsters wearin' patient gear, n' those tha' ge' brainwashed ge' their own stuff to wear."
Keeping her eyes open for the most obvious of her two partners for the evening, she still almost missed the figure crouched beside an older, scruffier looking man. But the color was unquestionable, and there could only be so many blue individuals wandering around the halls this evening, particularly friendly ones.
Coming to a stop in front of them, flashlight hand politely pointed away from anyone's faces, she smiled at them in the dark. "I'm guessing you're the group I'm meeting with tonight. Sorry for being a little late." The outfit did take a while to get on, when she put it on by hand, but at least the fuzziness was gone from her mind now. She felt alert and ready. The two men didn't look unfriendly, either; they seemed to have been talking when she'd wandered up and interrupted.
"Nice to meet you." She didn't think she'd seen either before, but it would be hard to tell if the blue guy changed at night from something more obviously human. The hand holding her improvised spear came up in a little salute. "I'm... Seiya, Seiya Kou." Yaten would have skinned her for calling herself that in this outfit to virtual strangers, but what was the use of a secret identity when her star seed was already taken anyhow?
That... was one heck of an outfit. Kurt didn't know why someone would wear such a thing, especially to fight in. It looked very revealing uncomfortable... it didn't look like it covered much at all.
Kurt stared up at Seiya, his mouth a little agape. He wasn't sure where to look, honestly.
"Well, hello there, darlin'!" Logan said with obvious amusement. He didn't hide the fact that he was looking her over, nor that he was enjoying what he saw. He'd seen some skimpy outfits in his time, and this one was right up there. He had no shame in drinking in the sight of her; a man his age was past all that. Hell, a man his age technically shouldn't even be alive.
"So...yer Seiya? We been waitin' fer ya. How ya doin?" He flicked his gaze over towards Kurt, and grinned broadly once more at the teenager's open-mouthed stare. Perhaps he hadn't seen too many young ladies dressed in such...finery before. "I'm Logan," he said, by way of introduction, "This here's Kurt, a goo' frien' o' mine. Don' be alarmed by his appearance, he's really quite harmless." He slipped from grin to wry smile, taking into account the fact that Seiya didn't seem at all fazed by the Elf's blue skin or yellow eyes. "Unless ya ge' under his skin, tha' is," he added playfully. "I see yer armed. A goo' thin'. Ya'll probly need i'". The Canadian was keen to get moving as soon as possible, but supposed there was time for a little friendliness, even if it did come across as a little 'lecherous old man' on his part. He was almost temtped to think 'what the hell, you only live once', except that wasn't exactly the case for someone like him.
"Logan. Kurt." She nodded politely to each in turn. "I kinda guessed; he's a little bluer than you are." Seiya took the staring in good stride, figuring she'd do the same if she were in their places. Besides, it was comfortable enough for her, so it didn't really matter what they thought, as they wouldn't have to wear it. Still, she only let a moment pass before she glanced out towards the main hallways.
"Yeah, although if we meet any brainwashed patients, it's probably going to see more use as a 'stick' than anything else." No killing here, no need to, the coming of day would cure all illness and they could keep their hands clean. She took a deep breath without thinking about it. "So, have we decided which route we'd take? Across the bottom and then the top, or...?"
Kurt blinked out of his staring-fest with an unintelligible noise. "Wha-? Oh... right, yeah, I'm Kurt. Wagner. Kurt Wagner." Smooth. In his defense though, the least clothed he'd ever seen another person was in a bathing suit--and it was Kitty for God's sake. Besides... bathing suits weren't so... shiny.
The mutant's ears pricked up as a rather large flash of light (from what could only be fire) came from the hallway just adjacent to them. It sounded like a fight was breaking out.
"Either someone got a flamethrower from the locals, or I would say that's a bad direction to go in," Kurt said, moving away from the entrance to the hallway. He slid back into the shadows behind Logan on all fours, his tail flicking nervously. "That looked like fire."
Another wide grin as Seiya apparently took it all in her stride, and even offered a witty retort in response. "Blue ain' really m'colour, darlin'," he chuckled, even though almost half of his X-Men costume was blue, he felt his response appropriate. "True," he continued, "Don' wanna go hurtin' people more'n they nee'." Venom excluded, there had never been a moment where he had considered killing another patient. But that Brock, well...he just had it coming.
Logan was about to respond to Seiya's question regarding a plan of action, when he too noticed the sudden flash of light, and snarled unconsciouslessly. The low growl continued as Kurt scampered behind him; this was not at all like the Nightcrawler he knew; either this kid better grow some balls pretty fast, or Logan would have to have some very stern words with him.
The mutant's anger was evident in his voice as he answered the Elf. "An' so wha' if it is, kid? We're sposedta be on search n' rescue. If'n tha' there fire means someone's in trouble, then i's our job ta pull 'em outta there!" His old age had one advantage however; his old self would have just taken off straight into whatever was going on down there without a second thought, but he at least managed to restrain himself long enough to listen to what the others had to say about it.
Seiya swiveled around and braced herself at the flash of light, but it was obviously further down the hall, out in one of the areas they'd agreed to 'patrol.' As soon as that? Well, fate could be funny sometimes. Still braced as if the fight could come their way, all thoughts of her outfit past, she glanced down to Kurt with a mixture of concern and confusion. Why would someone so easily intimidated volunteer for a job like this? To be with his friend?
"Yeah... looks like it's our job, and even our area to take care of, or try." Some patients might not be easy or even possible to subdue entirely, but just keeping those from doing too much harm to others would be enough. If it were one of the larger, stranger monsters, that would have to be killed, and she wouldn't feel any guilt about that. Stepping forward once, she paused again, listening to hear if she could get a better idea of who or what it was before jumping into a battle. It was too loud to really hear anything over the sounds of people going back and forth, as usual ignoring the fights so long as they could avoid them.
As you usually do, you mean?
Wincing mentally, she frowned again, this time for herself. "Is fire a particular problem for anyone?" Kurt did look a little... fuzzy... although it was hard to really be sure in the dark. "If not, I think we have our first mission."
Kurt winced at Logan's obvious anger. "I just have a really bad feeling about it..." Like in movies, when animals would suddenly flee from areas where bad things were about to happen, Kurt felt that if they went in there, something bad was going to happen. The flash of fire was really strong.
"It's not a problem," Kurt said, edging warily towards the opening of the hallway so he could look out. "It's just that--"
The mutant's yellow eyes widened slightly. The other person fighting (he really couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman, to be honest...) had just been kneed in the stomach, and it didn't look like they were going to get up. He or she could be killed, lying there like that and coughing!
Bad feeling pushed aside in favor of helping the person on the floor, Kurt gritted his teeth and started looking for his center. Panicked as he was, he gripped it in an instant.
"Someone needs help, let's go!!" He shouted, before disappearing in a puff of sulfuric smoke.
Kurt looked down at his own shirt, pulling the front out so he could look at it better. "Might be nice to get my uniform back..." he mused. "It might make me look a little more, y'know, heroic!"
