[From here]Celes came to a stop at the firmly locked door at the end of the hall. The general examined the door and put her hand on it, testing the knob. Meche considered. Of course taking Landel down would be Manny's goal--probably for personal revenge as much as for the fact that it looked like the only way to get everyone out of here. You had to hit the corruption at its roots, after all. But it didn't necessarily follow that everyone else would be after the man at the top too. Individuals might be able to slip through the cracks without any effort at getting rid of the system itself.

Naoto, though, was talking as though she wanted to bring Landel to justice--a much bigger operation than Meche had any idea how to deal with. She wasn't crazy about Manny's idea of fixing problems--you just shot the bad guy and things righted themselves--but at least it had the advantage of being straightforward. Naoto's approach sounded more like a cop's: she wanted to investigate, gather evidence...and then what, have him arrested? Or did she just want to know his weak points in order to attack him more easily?

"Not at all," she replied calmly. "I just wanted to make sure we're on the same page so I know what to keep an eye out for."

She was on good terms with this hallway; it had just one obvious, open door at the far end and no one trying to kill her. "Looks like it," she agreed, picking up her pace a little.
