He paused at hearing a noise in the hallway. Akihiko whipped his head around, searching for the source. "You're paranoid," he told himself quietly, when he didn't see it.

He shrugged again, noting the Sun Room door was partially open. He pushed the door open and stepped inside.

Surprisingly, SubZero was the first person in this part of the hall. Neither HK nor Arlene were anywhere to be seen. With nothing else to do, SubZero waited near the entrance to the sun room for the other two assassins to show up.

He didn't relax, though, and kept a wary eye on the hall in case something decided to attack him while he was alone.

The Bride was pleasantly surprised to see SubZero was already there. She knew she'd be delayed with the Norn, but the other assassins were typically later than she was.

With a nod, Beatrix leaned back against the wall next to SubZero.

SubZero returned the nod before letting his attention return to keeping an eye on the hallway and whatever people decided to head into the sun room.

"You were looking at my hands a lot last night," SubZero commented. It was something he hadn't managed to bring up at lunch. He had noticed it, even though Arlene wasn't the most obvious person. Certainly a lot more subtle than HK and Ophelia.

"I wanted to make sure the effects of using your ice against that man wasn't going to hinder you last night," the Bride replied. "I chose not to ask a potentially insulting question in front of the bitch."

"Oh? What sort of question?" SubZero was glad for Arlene's discretion, since there seemed to be so little of that between the three assassins.

Ophelia wasn't here now, though, and neither was HK. It was relatively safe, as far as this place was concerned.

It hadn't been in the forefront of her mind thanks to her time earlier with Skuld, but with the way SubZero phrased his question, she couldn't help but say something. After all, it was just the two of them there for the moment.

She looked over at the man. "How good are you with your hands?"

Now that was a very loaded question. SubZero wasn't sure how to immediately respond to that. He wanted to tell her that he was very good with his hands. It was true, he was. He really shouldn't encourage anything that might get him into a tricky situation, though.

"I'm very good with my hands," SubZero said after a moment. There was really no other way to answer that.

The Bride's lip curled up a bit. "Are you now?"

"Maybe you'll get to see one of these nights," SubZero offered. He could be getting himself into a lot of trouble here, and he wasn't sure if Arlene would be interested in something like that.

They were both professionals, after all, and there was a lot of work to be done at night.

The Bride's eyes momentarily trailed down SubZero's form before finding his eyes again. "Perhaps, I shall," she replied, an almost inviting look in her eyes.

A second later and it was gone, the ex-assassin looking down the hall. HK-47 still hadn't arrived.

"He's late," she stated. "He will not like it if I have to go find him."

The way Arlene's gaze wandered over SubZero was a little bit flattering and very interesting. But just as quickly as this had turned into something personal a few moments ago, Arlene was back to business.

"It's possible he was taken tonight by the staff," SubZero really didn't want to waste time looking for HK-47. It would just be even more of a waste of time. "Other people have been going through, we might be able to get a third person to open a door with us."

Beatrix nodded. "There are always people heading for the basement; we can play nice if we must to get a third."

She turned to the Sun Room doors. "Enough waiting."
