Those patients who bordered on normal always presented challenges. After all, almost every poor soul that was caught in this trap had some sort of power to be exploited. If not that, then it was a strange connection to a god, or a physical abnormality - some sort of baseline to work off of.
Fortunately, this doctor enjoyed challenges. He saw the girl who was strapped to the table before him as a clean slate, and he would do whatever he wanted to her. Any little thing that popped into his head could be exploited. He could torture her, give her untold power...
It was enough to get his heart racing.
The harsh light singled out the woman's body in the otherwise dark room, and while she was in her everyday uniform, he had examined her and taken notes of the wounds she already had. She was in a weakened state, which meant he would have to be more careful than he would have liked. Still, he was allowed to get her as close to death as he wanted, provided he didn't actually kill her.
It was a fine line to walk, though. He would have to be precise. Settling back on his heels, the doctor waited smugly for the girl to open her eyes.
