Frey had been worried that Takaya wouldn't want to stop fighting--he'd been so angry, and Frey knew well that his room-mate and friend was a bit of a hothead. But it seemed that Uesugi was fully in control now, as his more measured speech pattern was the one that came out when he spoke to the enemy.
Taking the hint and using the enemy's momentary blindness to their advantage, Frey retreated not back the way they had come, but instead up the hallway they'd been aiming for all along. He was a bit tired from using the Dawn Rune, but not so far gone that he couldn't keep his head. "Uesugi, how are your ribs? That kick looked powerful." Unfortunately, he'd lost his flashlight in the tussle, so Frey couldn't clearly see for himself.
