here and about to be perved upon]
She'd been upstairs once, to visit the Chapel, but that had been during the day. There were no staff members escorting her this time, which only made things more dangerous, in a way. The shinigami, Abarai Renji, had been killed battling nurses at night

Leon flicked on his flashlight as he reached the stairs, glad that things had been relatively quiet en route. He hurried up, moving quickly past the young woman. He felt bad, but he was quickly beginning to recognize that he couldn't protect everyone here... and not everyone here wanted his protection.

"Oh, ah...we just sorta met earlier today. How do you know him?" he asked out of curiosity, glancing back to make sure he wasn't gonna accidentally run into Rude from behind. No sense making them all trip up the stairs.

"Oh, we're partners," she explained. "Work for the same corporation and all. You know how that is."
She leaned in closer to him, so that she was just barely behind the man. "Do you... like to live dangerously?"
She couldn't help it; she just wanted to see how he'd react and all.

"I'm bringing sexy back, them other boys don’t know how to act," Kon's flashlight picked out someone standing at the foot of the stairs as he walked over, still happily singing albeit softer than he would during the day. He cut himself off as he got a better look at the babe up ahead. A fantastic rack and legs that went on for miles, made even easier to see by the skirt that was slit almost all the way up to her waist. He had no choice but to stop and make sure she was OK. It was his duty as a superhero to help her out if she needed it. And his duty as a guy to enjoy the view provided by that skirt.
"Hey babe," Kon called out as he came up beside her. "You a thief? 'Cause I think you just stole my heart."

At first, Tsubaki wasn't sure who, exactly, he was addressing. Unexpected enough that someone would be singing and signalling their approach--instead of downright foolish, maybe it was heartening to know someone had the frame of mind to get away with it--but Tsubaki would've thought the only reason someone would enter the stairwell was to take it to the second floor. That this person was stopping to talk to her in lieu of that failed to click in Tsubaki's mind right away.
Because the words made less sense than the singing. And when meant for her personally... they made even less sense.
She hesitated in turning her flashlight on to get an immediate and accurate look at the muscled figure, not wanting to blind him. "I'm sorry, do you mean me?"

"Ah--" Tsubaki started to ask something (probably a repeat of her first question, with added awkwardness), before he introduced herself, and whatever she’d been about to say was promptly squashed by the sudden and reflexive urge to wince. She just barely held herself in check, an equally reflexive half-smile coming to her lips. That name, she’d heard it before, hadn’t she? Or at least read it. ‘Superboy’ had been that person she’d been sharing messages with on the bulletin board, wasn’t he!?
It was beyond her to rationally understand why her reaction was so strong in that moment. Tsubaki only knew her desire to make for the stairs was doubled.
So she bowed slightly, and backed onto the first step. I have a mission to take care of… "Thank you for your concern, but please don’t worry. I’m ( ... )

The mental storm from the hallway combined with the stronger, lingering emotions from the stairwell. Some of which included -or stemmed from - thoughts she really wasn't in the mood to hear right now. Same perverted freaks that frequented the halls of Bixby High.
Melissa paused for a moment with her head against the wall next to the stairs, trying to regain her bearings. If she could just barrel through all of it, or at least struggle through some of it, then she'd get to the chapel and the numb pain in her right arm would stop. It was just so hard to escape the churning sea of feelings, closing in above her and bearing down harder than they had the night before. She could take a few minutes to rest; she needed it.

Now that they were at the stairs, Grell made sure to hang back. Being in character was one thing, but if anything was going to leap out and kill one of them, he wanted to make sure it was Brainiac 5 who took the hit. He'd just gotten his clothes back and he wasn't about to waste them on getting eaten. It didn't help that he could feel his own mortality constantly like some unwelcome weight. A heart was one thing, a living heart was another. He didn't want it. It wasn't as romantic as the stories made it out to be.
"So we go up these?" he asked, pointing his torch at the steps, peering up as they disappeared into darkness.
