Kvothe paused once he and Clark were safely passed the creature he paused and looked around, he hadn't been this far down the building before. There were two hallways, but only one looked like it had doors going down the length of it. Or at least as far as the weak beam of his flashlight reached. He looked over at Clark. "Down this way, I guess?

Yue didn't seem to see a need in staying behind, so Yuuhi followed along to the next empty hallway. The man wasn't exactly a conversationalist, was he? That was alright though, it couldn't be any harder than talking to Kurogane, right?

She left Sakura and continued down the hall, her heightening hearing picking up the distress from the doctor's hallway. She hesitated, then decided to go there last, once she acquired everything else.

"Do you want to go first and I'll take the rear? We don't know what's up there. Or, if you want me to go first, I can do that, too. It's up to you," Akihiko said, checking to be sure Mitsuru was there with him.

"I'll go ahead and go first," she replied, heading over to the base of the stairs. "I'm assuming you'll be right behind me, at any rate, so if something comes after us, it won't matter that I'm not well-equipped." That said, she looked back ahead of her, using the flashlight to light the way, and began going up.

Okay, so that hadn't gone as planned. Were the phone and computer really for show or did they just...he didn't know, go off-line or something when it turned into night? Clark left the first doctor's office not feeling too confident.

Kvothe wasn't either as he followed Clark out, and closed the door to the office behind them. He took a moment to examine the crushed handle again. "That's odd," he said as if he hadn't noticed on their way in. "It doesn't look rusted at all." He glanced at Clark, then used his light to check up and down the hall to make sure that there wasn't anything coming that they didn't want to meet.

Clark had to remind himself not to look away like he had something to hide. "I thought it was," he said, glancing down at the crumpled door handle like it was news to him too. "Guess it's bad workmanship."

Kvothe rattles the handle briefly, testing that, and while he's strong for his size it certainly feels sturdy enough to him. "Maybe," he says, a little skeptically.
