Only a few more hallways to go. It seemed almost too quiet, as he stepped through the hallways. That could mean that it was just early, of course, but it could mean that something was there in the shadows.
Oh, well. If there was, Akihiko would just take it down. It wasn't too much of a worry.

The outer block hallways were the same as last night around this time: empty and silent. People would soon flood these places, Ken knew, but for now, he could appreciate the quiet.
Down the hall and around the corner. Then M22.

There weren't many patients out yet, so Steve would wait outside his block for a while in case Kurt or Matt were in there. It would've been better if he knew at least which block they were in, they could end up spending a lot of time just trying to meet up, but he was determined to find both of them.
Steve took up position against one of the walls, keeping an eye out for any of the monsters he had heard about.

There was still another hall that he remembered passing during the day, so he would go check that one next.

There weren't many out yet, so he was probably making alright time. The sooner he could repay his debts to Homura, the better. Then he could spend his nights doing things he actually needed to be doing.

Again, just a few people moving from here to there. Not that Phoenix was complaining. It was a lot better than trying to renegotiate your route because there was wildlife on steroids in the way. He walked quickly for the north-end doors, though once he got there he once again repeated the quickly-becoming-habit 'stop, pause, peek through the door like a little girl.'
All right. No giant squirrels, and no screaming guys being attacked by giant squirrels. I guess this is my lucky night.

He paused at this wider hall. Following the path the nurse had led him on would lead him deeper into this prison, and though there was an obvious exit in that room with a glass ceiling, human bodies (among their other failures) were incapable of transforming into bomber planes that could simply fly through the ceiling.
So he went the other way, tromping along in an almost military march.
