In the same direction was the Sun Room, the cafeteria, and the doctor's offices -- in sum, he'd been through a significant amount of the institute to the right. Which meant it was time to head left

The man himself eased out of the shadows a few moments later, the shadows peeling away as though they were reluctant to let go of him. "Anyway, liebling," he added in Greed's direction, glad that there was no possibility of either man's knowing German, "I had a headache, so you can shut the fuck up."
Schuldig was not exactly in a bad mood, but he was definitely on edge. The painkiller hadn't done much for his headache, and he was still distinctly alarmed by how easily he'd been thrown off his stride...not to mention how close he'd come to never being able to get back into it. The distinct possibility that only Yohji's intervention had saved him made the hair on his arms stand on end.
He'd been taking, he thought, an entirely reasonable nap and he wasn't going to take any shit from Greed about it. "If you're so eager to ditch me, go ahead," he added, peevishly. "I can get muscle anywhere. Telepaths are a bit more valuable a commodity than that."

The homunculus' scowl turned into something of a smirk as he realized this was actually a change for the better. He preferred seeing the cards on the table, anyway, or else he was the only one playing with a hand the other could see.
He finally shrugged, smug again as he looked towards the telepath.
"Geez, someone's got his panties in a twist. I'm not eager to ditch you, just to get our asses moving." He nodded towards his new acquaintance. "Anyway, I was busy talking to..."
He looked to the guy, arching a brow.
"...What's your name, again?"

He glanced at the shorter man with the shock of red hair, unsure of what to make of him. At the very least he seemed like a jackass.

Vincent was an agony. The sheer levels of guilt and grief and self-loathing writhing in his head...it was like discovering Aya all over again. Maybe not quite as good, since he hadn't had a personal hand in bringing any of that pain about yet, but delicious all the same. And soothing, in a way; Schuldig was used to the minds around him being in turmoil and it put him at ease.
Without even meaning to, he started to grin.

Fucking hell, Greed could never understand these crazy types, and yet another resemblance between the telepath and Kimbley's behavior put him on edge enough to want to get going even more than he had wanted before.
"Hey!" He walked over to Schuldig, nudging him hard with his hand as he began to make his way up the left side of the hallway. "You can be nusto later; for now, let's try getting somewhere."
He glanced to Vincent, his scowl turning into something of a smirk.
"You can come too, if you want."

And now they were moving, which was more than fine by Vincent. He nodded at the... Ultimate Shield (ha), shrugging elegantly. "Until I get where I'm going." He'd know it when he got there.

Still, subject matter aside, Schuldig couldn't help snickering a moment later. "A man who doesn't know where he is leading a man who doesn't know where he's going and a man who's at home wherever he damned well pleases. We're a hell of a group."

The homunculus let his arms hang at his sides as he made his way down the hall towards what seemed to be a source of light slightly brighter than the dark shadows they'd come from. It took a moment before the homunculus arched an eyebrow and grinned a wide grin. They were heading towards some double doors with windows on either side of them, and where there were windows, there generally was an outside.
"Hey, gang, looks like we're heading in the right direction."

Grating as the redhead was becoming, however, the exploration they both afforded was infinitely better than sitting around uninjured on his ass all night. He owed his friends at least that much in progress.
Vincent glared at the windows, last night still fresh in his mind. "I doubt what's out there is unenclosed," he said darkly. "Or unguarded."

He was pissing Vincent off, and was well aware of it. Normally this wouldn't bother him much, but with how delicious the man's pain was he didn't want Vincent stalking off in a huff, so he decided to try to tone himself down a bit.
Anyway, the man had a valid point. Just the memories of the creatures some of the other patients had run into were enough to make Schuldig distinctly wary of attracting any with unnecessarily loud snarking.
"Maybe you shouldn't kick this particular door down," he remarked to Greed, in a slightly less sarcastic voice than usual. "At least not until we see what's on the other side."

The homunculus felt like trying to kick down the door anyway, but given his current weakened state and the fact that this door looked pretty well-enforced, he wasn't going to risk it for fear of failing it and looking like a fool.
He looked back at what he liked to think were his followers, smirking smugly.
"You guys gonna keep whining, or can we keep going?"

Despite that, however, was the pressing curiosity of what was on the other side of those doors, and while he was unarmed, he was certainly not unprepared. Brushing past Greed, he pushed open the surprisingly unlocked door and stepped outside into the cool, foggy night.
Cid would have appreciated it.
