Yazoo carefully made his way down the hall, wishing that he still had his acute sense of sight. Not being to see in the dark was definitely something he was going to have to get use to, and fast, especially if he wanted to survive the night by not getting lost.
He chanced turning his flashlight on a couple of times in order to reach the end of the hall without incident, but when he reached his destination he kept it shut off completely. As quietly as he could, he pushed open the door and stepped out into the main hallway, which put him between the M block and the cafeteria.
‘Let’s see… which way…’ Remembering the path he took in the mornings to reach the cafeteria, he turned right and headed through the open doorway. ‘So far, so good…’ He stopped before he reached the nurses’ station at the end of the hall, not really wanting to get too close to there if the nurses really did turn into monsters at night.
Walking over to the door on his right, he eased it open and looked around; squinting as he tried to make out how the room was laid out. He gave up and turned on his flashlight, relieved to see that it was indeed another block of patients’ rooms, just like he had thought. He went the rest of the way in, mumbling a “Damn, I’m good,” under his breath with a smirk as the door clicked closed behind him.
