She sat up with a start, her forehead dripping with sweat, her hands gripping tightly onto the sheets of the plain white bed. It had all just been a dream, hadn’t it? Yes, it had to be, if she was waking up now -
… But where was she waking up?
Usagi blinked, confusion coloring her features as her head whipped around her surroundings. Where in the world was she? It looked almost like some kind of hospital … was she in the hospital? Had she gotten hurt? Ripping the sheet off of her, the moon princess looked down at her body, looking over her clothed legs and clothed chest -
“Eh? What’s this?” Blinking down at the strange face on her shirt, she let out a giggle, her lips curling into a grin. “Cute!
… But despite it all, she couldn’t get rid of the terrible feeling in the pit of her stomach.
… Had it been a dream?
Her thoughts were interrupted when suddenly a woman wearing white entered the room, and Usagi snapped to attention, jumping from her bed to look at the strange lady. “A-ah! I’m A-OK, I think I can go home now, ha ha ha ha!” Her hand lifted to press behind her head, her fingers pressing into the back of her skull as she forced her laugh.
The nurse, on the other hand, was not amused. “Oh, Miyuki. We’re here to help you! You can’t leave yet.”
Usagi blinked. “Eh? Miyuki? My name’s not Miyuki. It’s Usagi. U-sa-gi. You know, like the rabbit?” and to prove her point, she lifted her hands up over her head and pretended they were rabbit ears.
The nurse laughed. “That’s an adorable impression, Miyuki! But really, let’s get you out there so you can meet some new friends! Everyone is very friendly here, I’m sure they’ll love you!”
Usagi let out a forced laugh and nodded her head, reaching out a hand in a “lead the way” gesture. “Well, okay then. Let’s go!”
