He didn't dare stray too far from Mitsukuni though. Even if those monsters were dead, the bodies were still there and the place was still dark and cramped. Mitsukuni was the only one with a flashlight and with it so low, Mori had to squint to see what was in the next box. Jeans, a t-shirt, a few magazines... He shifted the things around and found a wallet again, but nothing of real interest. Then, down at the very bottom, a chocolate bar. Nothing fancy, probably not even up to their standards, but it was candy and he knew his cousin was probably not getting his required amount of sweets. Taking it out, he checked the expiration date (well within reason) and handed it down to him. "Here."

The clothes were still way too big for him, and this time there were some action figures, worn with use, some plastic ninja play toys, and no phone, but there was a pair of children's walkie talkies.
"Mmph mmm!" Honey declared, which really meant, "Look what I found!" They weren't phones, but they'd be useful if they actually worked.

Mori was going to need to find more candy. He started checking through the other nearby boxes, but he came up empty on sweets. Tomorrow night, maybe he'd have to go to the kitchen then.
He heard his cousin's muffled voice and looked down again, seeing a pair of walkie talkies in his hands. Now those could be useful. They weren't going to work long range most likely, but they'd be able to do something here. Kneeling down, Mori plucked one from Mitsukuni's hands and turned it over, checking for batteries. Looks like they were in luck for awhile. Turning it back over, he clicked his on and listened - the low hiss of white noise said that it could, indeed, transmit and receive.
