Nightshift 36 - Morgue (Second Floor)

[from here]

Sanzo didn't move where he'd landed, all his attention focused on not getting sick. He hadn't fallen very far, but the landing had aggravated the wounds from the lightsaber, sending jagged spikes of agony through his body and right into his fucking brain. It felt like he'd been electrocuted all over again.

The monk couldn't do anything but lay against the tile floor, panting.

After awhile, he finally moved, slowly curling up against the wall he'd apparently fallen out of. Sanzo let his head fall back, to rest against the metal. The monk couldn't suppress the shiver that went through him. He could barely see it, but his breath was coming out in faint clouds. It was actually somehow colder out here. His skin was prickling from it.

At that realization, Sanzo looked down involuntarily. It was a stupid move, considering he couldn't see shit. He touched his chest, hip, a shoulder, a knee. His fingers were coming against healed gashes, old scars, and new ones. Nothing but bare skin.

He was naked. His clothes were gone. And the sutra....

It'd have to be dealt with later. No weapons, no idea where-the-hell this was. He wasn't in any condition to try and hunt that sadistic prick down. Not when he could barely move. Couldn't even really think of much besides how much pain he was in. The colder air out here, the wider room... it was all just making him realize how every inch of him hurt. It felt like he'd just been thrown - bound and weaponless - right into a den of youkai. The only difference was that he hadn't been eaten alive, although it fucking felt like he had.

Sanzo licked at suddenly dry lips. He had to keep moving. He'd freeze here. As much as he wanted to lie down, and stay down, it wasn't an option. Despite the resolve, the cold was eating away at him, and before he realized it, his head was starting to droop towards his chest, eyes starting to close. It'd be so much easier to just let it happen. No more mission, no more being hunted day in and day out, no more worrying about the sutra...

....He wasn't about to just lie down and die. Not if he had any say in it. Sanzo's spine straightened, before he heaved himself to his feet. Th pitch black was at least coming to his favor this once. He couldn't see the room spinning.

The monk leaned against the wall, arm coming in contact with more of the metal doors, and the handles on them. They were familiar, even if he'd never touched them before this. But he'd seen Goku touching these a few nights ago.

The morgue.

At least he was getting a good idea of where he was now, and how far he'd have to get before he could get back to his cell.
