Damn again. The place looked pretty well raided.
Zelnick sighed, surveying the obviously-searched kitchen. He supposed he was going to do the same thing, but he still wished he could have done so first...
"Well, let's search for useful stuff," he told his allies, moving towards the pantry-- was that flour spilled all over the floor?-- and finding the baskets of fruit still there. He emptied one of its contents, then turned back towards the kitchen to search drawers and cupboards.

But his human was insistent, and traveling alone would be dangerous, and his human might get into some sort of mischief if he wasn't around to keep an eye on him, so he reluctantly followed his lead.
Although he had to admit, his heart wasn't much in searching for supplies now. He'd lost it to that magnificently grotesque creature they'd left behind...
ZEX opened a few drawers, looking through them while trying to ignore the visions of the creature that kept playing through his mind. "That creature, was it an Earth creature?" If their planet could produce such wonders as humans, no doubt they could also produce such wonders like that beast they'd seen!

Finished with the kitchen cabinets (if not entirely satisfied by their contents), Tanaka called over to Zelnick. "No luck over here, Captain... just more pots and pans. Did you find anything?"

It didn't hurt that he liked apples and Oreos.
"Not an Earth creature, no," he said, "or anything I've seen before. It was probably made in this place." It was said rather shortly, a bit of grossed-out sneaking into his voice, but he tried to shake off his instinctual creeped-out-ness for the moment.
To Tanaka's question, he lifted the basket a little and shined his light on it. "Some metal that could be sharpened, some food for trading and stuff, and we can use the basket to carry anything else we find. Not much, but better than nothing." He sighed. "We should probably move on, if we don't find anything else."

"Ah, I see." So there might not have been any others of its kind... all alone, the poor thing! Although, that only made such a singular creature all the more unique and valuable... if only he had his ship and his world here, so he could properly take possession of it! Such a shame.
"I'm not finding much of interest..." ZEX said, still thinking of the beast they'd slain. "A pity..." More about the creature's death than anything else, but he didn't mention that.

Looking over some of the other things in the basket, Tanaka added, "Where was the next place you were planning on checking? Some kind of lab?"
