Tamaki did seem to be a little brighter than he'd been last night. Maybe that meant things were ok. He had his doubts, but he didn't voice them, not yet.
Once they'd gotten outside the door Honey had to admit he felt a little better. The cramped room made him restless and uneasy, "I'm glad to see you smiling Tama-chan! I heard you might be sad so me and Takashi came to cheer you up."
He held up the stuffed pink rabbit he'd been carrying around. "Ano... I know it isn't Kuma-chan, but you can hold Usa-chan if you want... u-um, for a little while!" He was hesitant to let go of his own comfort item, but Tamaki might need it more than he did. "Mm... because Tama-chan has always helped everyone a lot. So we want to help Tama-chan too." He looked up at the tall blonde with his large brown eyes. If Tamaki didn't want to talk about his problem, then that was ok, but he wanted the boy to know that he still had his makeshift family around to help him, even if they weren't all there or didn't have fancy clothes or cakes
Re: Outside M35the_clown_kingSeptember 25 2008, 02:08:34 UTC
"Oh!" Tamaki smiled warmly. How terribly touching! "No, it's alright. You keep Usa-chan," he said, eyes lighting up.
And then the inevitable, and Tamaki's smile faltered just a little.
"I'm alright," he promised. "I'm not sad anymore, really. I...was, but it's okay now. There are just some terribly bad people here, who like to hurt others, and one of them tried to hurt me. But he didn't."
Thankfully. Tamaki didn't want to think about what would have happened if day hadn't come.
Re: Outside M35mukuchiSeptember 25 2008, 11:34:38 UTC
Once they were outside, Mori moved to the outer edge of the group, keeping a careful watch on the hallway. He didn't think monsters would come this far, but he didn't want to risk it. He'd seen that...thing in the other hallway and he wasn't about to let anything like that get to Mitsukuni or Tamaki.
But then Mitsukuni started talking and Mori took his eyes off the hall to watch Tamaki's reaction. His smile changed and Mori knew it was still a sore spot. It likely would be for awhile. The Host Club had gone behind Tamaki's back before to protect him and Mori was more than willing to do it again if it meant keeping whatever psycho tried to hurt him from repeating his mistake. Looking at Mitsukuni for a moment, he decided he'd tell his cousin later and then looked off down the hall again, his hand tightening on the closet rod as if to convey how dearly Tamaki's attacker was going to pay.
Re: Outside M35host_club_honeySeptember 25 2008, 17:27:34 UTC
If Tamaki was claiming to be fine, it was hard for Honey to really do anything for him but continue to worry. He noticed the way Tamaki's smile faded briefly and knew Takashi had to have seen it too. He hadn't expected all the answers, but he'd hoped the boy might open up a little. Honey could almost feel Takashi's anger and had to force a sweet, cherubic smile himself. They'd talk about it later for certain, if someone was trying to hurt Tamaki, even if they hadn't succeeded, action was definitely necessary.
"Hnn," Honey appeared thoughtful as he pulled Usa-chan back into hug. "Well I'm really glad you're feeling better," he said with a decisive nod. "The Host Club doesn't run as good without our leader." He smiled sweetly up at the other boy.
Re: Outside M35the_clown_kingSeptember 25 2008, 19:10:25 UTC
Tamaki had to smile a bit.
"Well, there isn't much Hosting going on here," he explained. "I'm afraid so much of my time goes to the clinic! And, well, it's very hard to have proper Host Club meetings with how terribly structured our time is. And I don't think Ed is entirely comfortable with the whole Hosting thing, really." But that was said almost dismissively. Ed just didn't understand. But that was alright.
Re: Outside M35mukuchiSeptember 26 2008, 06:21:23 UTC
Ed? The name made Mori's ears prick up. He hadn't heard of an Ed before and usually Tamaki was pretty quick to introduce his friends to the rest of the Club. Or maybe he had heard the name and he'd just forgotten? Maybe he'd been distracted at the time. At the very least, the conversation seemed to be drifting away from the topic of whatever unpleasantness had happened, so Mori relaxed his grip and turned back to the others.
Mitsukuni was right in that the Club didn't do well without Tamaki, but to think that he hadn't really been hosting was strange. Tamaki was, of course busy, but surely he would have found the time? Still, the question of who Ed was seemed to stick out in Mori's mind so he looked at Tamaki curiously.
Re: Outside M35host_club_honeySeptember 26 2008, 22:56:53 UTC
No hosting? Honey's face mirrored his disbelief. Tamaki not hosting was like cake with no strawberry on it. Even on his bad days at home, Tamaki would still host!
Ed though, that was familiar. He was the blonde boy that Honey had met in town. "Hn... Ed-chan? That's ok, we can make do with just the members that are here," he assured Tamaki. "He doesn't owe the club a debt, does he?" he added with a smile, "I don't think there's much here that would be very expensive to break anyway."
"Me and Takashi will try extra hard too," he promised, though he didn't specify what exactly they'd be working hard at. If there was nothing else, they should probably let Tamaki go back to the clinic. It was safer in the rooms, he'd bet. And if there were those other nice people, Tamaki should be safe.
Re: Outside M35the_clown_kingSeptember 26 2008, 23:00:02 UTC
Tamaki had to laugh at that. "Oh, no! Nothing like that! Why, Ed even tried to learn to be a Host, but he doesn't quite have the knack for it. Though he was very enthusiastic during his lessons!" So enthusiastic, that it had been the start of Tamaki's first relationship as well as Tamaki's first kiss.
"No, Ed's...oh, promise me you won't make fun of me for this!" He knew there was no reason not to explain that Edward Elric was his boyfriend, but after the merciless teasing of the twins and Kyouya, he felt the disclaimer was necessary.
Even with Mori and Honey, who he rationally knew would do not such thing.
Re: Outside M35mukuchiSeptember 27 2008, 06:01:04 UTC
Even Mitsukuni knew Ed? Mori was behind. That kind of sucked. He'd have to go find Ed later and talk to him or something because he seemed to be the only one in the group who didn't know him. Ed had to be one of the friends Tamaki had gotten since being here. One that apparently was not made to be a host. Well, it wasn't like everyone was cut out for the job.
But then Tamaki's demeanor changed and he asked not to be made fun of. What in the world could be so embarrassing for him? Certainly, Tamaki was pretty innocent when it came to...well, just about everything, but to think that Mori and Mitsukuni would make fun of him for it? Tilting his head to the side, he waited to hear the news.
Re: Outside M35host_club_honeySeptember 27 2008, 06:42:43 UTC
Honey was kind of surprised by the entire thing. The Ed he'd met didn't even know a moisturizer from a facial cleanser. While Haruhi was the same in that aspect, Haruhi was... Haruhi. And usually the club was pretty picky about just who was allowed to be in it. Ed was really nice, but he didn't seem like the personality they'd usually look for in a host. What kind of host would he be? He wasn't sure he could even put the boy in a classification like the others. Oh well.
"That's ok," he told Tamaki. "Not everyone is good at hosting. Especially at the start. Remember Haru-chan's first day? Eh heh! No one even knew she could be cute under all that mess!"
But when Tamaki kept talking about Ed, making them promise not to make fun, he only grew more confused. What could it be about? Neither himself nor Takashi usually laughed at their leader. The twins might, but that was almost a given. "Don't be silly Tama-chan!" Honey said with a half-smile. "You can trust us!"
Re: Outside M35the_clown_kingSeptember 27 2008, 07:42:44 UTC
Tamaki ducked his head, almost sheepishly. He knew that they wouldn't tease him, but this was something rather...well...out of the ordinary. Who would have expected him, the King of the Host Club, would have ended up with a boyfriend?
"Ed is...my boyfriend," he managed, smiling even though he looked a little embarrassed by the whole thing.
Re: Outside M35mukuchiSeptember 29 2008, 00:14:03 UTC
'You can trust us' was one way to put it. Mori wasn't sure he was ready to hear what Tamaki said, but he listened anyway. And then he felt like the entire world had been turned upside down. Boyfriend? Tamaki had a boyfriend? Wasn't he the one who had called the rest of the Club the 'homo side characters'? And hadn't he been agonizing over Haruhi lately?
Unless that question about kissing Honey really had been-- Mori felt his insides flip as he realized he should have just told the truth. Maybe then he could have been able to help Tamaki out more when his crisis instead of forcing him into bed with a fever! The tangled web lies wove certainly was, well, tangled

Re: Outside M35host_club_honeySeptember 29 2008, 20:12:18 UTC
Honey might have laughed, if he wasn't so completely dumbstruck by Tamaki's statement. He had a boyfriend? What about Haruhi? Hadn't he and Takashi spent countless hours with the twins, trying to help them sort out their feelings for the girl? He'd been so sure Tamaki liked Haruhi, somewhere behind that Daddy-complex of his. Apparently he was wrong.
Tamaki hadn't even said a word when he'd mentioned Haruhi. Had he totally forgotten about her? He supposed that did tend to happen when a person was in love, but...
And then Takashi's comment, left him even more puzzled. Sorry about before? What happened before? Why would Takashi have reason to apologize to Tamaki about anything? He was always really nice, he couldn't imagine what the boy could have done.
Honey turned a worried pout on his cousin before looking back at Tamaki. "We just want you to be happy Tama-chan," he told the host club's king once the initial shock had passed. First the twins acting weird, now Tamaki had a boyfriend, what next?
Re: Outside M35the_clown_kingSeptember 29 2008, 20:19:44 UTC
Tamaki blinked a bit at Mori too, and then just shook his head, smiling a little. Really, as far as he was concerned, there was nothing to apologize for!
"I know it's something of a shock," he said, running a hand through his hair. "Oh, it was a terrible shock to me! Really, we didn't expect it! It just happened. And I...I suppose I've done a great deal of thinking, since coming here, and figured out a few things." More than a few, but there were some things he couldn't really put it into words. About love, and loss, and understanding that sometimes when you loved someone, the best thing you can do for them is let them go.
He'd learned that when he was younger. And after that week, when Haruhi was here the second time, and hadn't even answered back to his note.... Well, Tamaki was a fool, but he wasn't stupid.
"He's very nice," he added, feeling as awkward and silly as he had when the twins had first found out.
Re: Outside M35mukuchiSeptember 30 2008, 00:31:17 UTC
The pout from Mitsukuni made Mori fell like he was under the spotlight for a moment, but his cousin thankfully turned his attention back to Tamaki soon enough. Last thing he needed to tell Mitsukuni was what Tamaki had asked him before coming here. ...not that apparently Tamaki seemed to remember? Mori had thought it was a big deal since the Host had ended up in bed because of it. They'd even gone to visit him! Including Haruhi

Re: Outside M35host_club_honeySeptember 30 2008, 01:58:56 UTC
The fact that Tamaki had really thought about it was a fair step forward for him. It seemed like the host usually had a number of brilliant ideas for activities, games, and other things, but rarely did he turn his attention inward and think about his own feelings.
"Mm," Honey agreed. "He's fun! I met him today after I got off the bus. We went to the spa together." He couldn't believe Ed had never had a facial or a manicure or even knew what they were! But Ed had been really nice, and most importantly, he'd been worried over Tamaki, so their feelings were mutual. It made a little more sense now that he thought about his earlier conversation with Ed.
"I hope we can play together some more. I'd like to get to know him better, definitely! Ah- He said he knew me from before. That I was his roommate the last time I was here." Honey adopted a puzzled expression. "But I know I'd remember coming here for sure." He glanced up suddenly, almost as if he'd said too much
