Day 35: Arriving in Town

Sep 07, 2008 02:48

As the buses finished their descent into the town of Doyleton, the engines rumbled and the vehicles came to a stop right at Magus Park, just like they had a week ago.

In fact, everything about the town seemed the same, except for the fact that it was no longer decorated for a holiday. The sky was overcast and the weather was still that biting cold that was associated with the fall season.

Even though it was obvious that the town was still waking up, there were some residents milling about here and there, setting up shop and anticipating the weekly visit that had now become the norm.

Meanwhile, the institute staff that had made the trip with its patients were ready to escort them out of the buses, and the drivers opened the doors. A set of nurses stood at the exit of each bus, ready to hand out books of coupons as each patient exited onto the quiet street.

Compared to the institute, this place seemed like a whole other world.
