Renamon moved inside, instantly turning her flashlight on to search the corners of the small room. Nothing was inside other than a multitude of clutter. She shifted slightly to allow Yukari into the room.

Was kicking knobs the way everyone got a door open? Whatever happened to the quieter methods, like lock picking? And there had to be something similar to a credit card around they could use-- not that she was entirely sure if the latter worked, but if it was such a well known way, it had to be worth trying. Yukari could do those, but kicking, she wasn't too sure. Wearing only the slippers they were issued, she was hesitant to find out if she could, either.

Yukari shuffled in behind Renamon, using her own flashlight to investigate as many corners of the tiny closet as possible. If there was another giant anything hanging above them, she was not going to let them hang around long enough for it to get the upper hand on them ( ... )

While Yukari was looking around, Renamon was looking at the shelves. Hanging off of a shelf were a few pairs of gardening gloves; heavy-duty and thick. She considered them a moment, then slid a pair into the back of her pants and another on. They were nothing like the gauntlet-type gloves that she normally had, but they would protect her hands and lower arms if something else decided to chew on her again. It felt better to have something covering her, especially after this afternoon.

She turned towards Yukari, with the intention of leaving, when she noticed exactly what Yukari had grabbed. She cocked her head for half a second, then reached past the girl to grab one as well. "This maybe." Renamon popped the end off, leaving a simple staff-like stick. She had wanted to learn a weapon after all, and this one might actually suit her. Or she could just shove it down a monster's throat and run, if need be. Lightly smirking to herself, she started to leave the room. "Nothing else I need."

Badou passed his flashlight along the walls once and stepped in. Despite the broken doorknob everything seemed to be intact and ready for the raiding. It was a much larger space than he expected for a closet, too.

"Shit." He groaned, moving further into the room. A large closet meant a lot more searching in the dark. That just sucked. Badou picked a shelf at random and pulled one of the boxes out, resigned to dig through garbage until he found a match even if it took him the rest of his life. "Alkaaaaaid. This sucks."

Well, hmmmm. So Haseo didn't say anything regarding Alkaid's little comment about Atoli. It had been a test of sorts, to see what he would say. What the hell did that mean?! He wasn't denying it, but he wasn't jumping for joy either! Ugh, he was so confusing. Stupid boys. No man should play with a lady's emotions like that! Not that she was a lady, though, even though there was that soft side of her that she let peek out every once in a while.

So she summarily ignored him, and followed Badou right into the closet (ignoring his comment about not being a dog, too, 'cause hell if he didn't look a little like some stray) only to take pause when he started whining. "Hey! Don't give up! It's best to be persistent about these things!"

With that, she started digging through one of the boxes on another shelf. "Don't lose hope just yet, you idiot! If you do that... then there's no point in anything!!"

As she said it, she realized that she sounded exactly like a character in some shounen manga. But, whatever. If it was true, it was true!!

The closet was kind of narrow, and from what Haseo could tell from briefing a glance over the area with his flashlight the nook was a grime-covered dingy place. There didn't really seem enough room for one person to comfortably look around let alone two of them. If there were matches in this place, they'd have to be crazy to want them. (The rogue looked over a bottle that was labeled "bleach", who would keep matches in the same place as something like that..?)

Even though he wasn't about to crowd into the closet along with the other two, Haseo did what peeking he could from the safe proximity of the doorway; he looked inside a couple of the nearby drawers and behind a couple of the paint cans that were open on the shelves. There weren't any matches to be seen behind anything and it didn't seem like the other two had much luck. They both seemed so certain that matches were here though. The rogue reached beyond one of the rusted cans of paint and pulled out a roll of ductape, "It's just a bunch of crap. Are you sure you got the right ( ... )

"Yeah, I guess so." Badou replied skeptically. "Were you a cheerleader back home or something?"

At least one of them was enthusiastic about this whole thing. Between him and Haseo, they seemed to be carrying a little less optimism than a morgue. It wasn't like they had a lot of options though. Hell if he knew if they had the right place. Let Alkaid field that question.

There wasn't really a lot of area to search. Badou sighed, audible this time, but it wasn't fair to just rain on Alkaid's parade when he didn't have any better ideas. "I'm pretty sure we fucked up with the matches, but maybe we can give the monsters some really unsightly laundry."

Ha ha. His life was a black, matchless abyss.
