Nightshift 34: Main Hallway, 2-East

[from here]Once out of the main hallway, Renamon relaxed a fraction. Possessions room or janitor closet, either way they didn't have far to go now. She clicked her flashlight on intermediately, but nothing was out so far. A part of her wondered how Orihime was faring, and then another part wondered where Rika was ( Read more... )

Phew, away for danger. For now. Though, Yukari hadn't run into any monsters in the hallways for a few days now, and she was planning on keeping it that way. At its best, they were a huge hindrance to deal with. At their worst, well... she already had a taste of that earlier, she could do without another session.

"Oh, I've got a few years practice under my belt," Yukari responded with an aura of pride. Hey, she took it up as a sport first, means of defense later; skill was important for both. "I'm in the club at my school." That much probably didn't sound like it was good enough to go up against the abominations that lurked around, but months of exploring and battling it off in Tartarus honed her skills when it came to facing moving targets such as, well... monsters. Landel's was almost comparable to the huge tower-- almost. In both places they trekked in the dark, fighting whatever tried to attack them. The differences was in time and equipment. Definitely location, too. Either way, Yukari was sure that with her desired weapon in hand, she would be able to stand a chance for once. She was oblivious to Renamon's skepticism.

"Thanks," she said. "It'd help a lot."

A few years. A school club. It was nothing personal to Yukari, but at that moment, she sounded so young. Renamon had fought all her life, for life or death, another day or deletion, and they had people that should be in school clubs here. It made her all the more determinded to control the glitch and break the game. Children should not be here. No one should.

One thing at a time however. She continued walking. "Not a problem."
