Originally, Matt had planned on bringing Mello's things to him, but having not had the opportunity to get the blond's room number (or rather, not being given it because he'd already half-threatened his life) the best Matt could do was leave his own room number in a note to the history club group he was supposed to be meeting with. This was probably for the best, anyway. Now it could be found by anyone who needed to reach him - the history club, Mello, and then even L. Of course on the other end, this meant Near knew the location as well.
Whatever. He'd probably end up being the go-between anyway. Somehow "gopher" had ended up in his job description.
He'd flipped through the file only enough to know it was the Institute's information on Mello - about what he'd expected from the beginning. Hopefully the blond would get whatever he was looking for from it. The chemicals from the night before were stashed in his dresser, so he pulled them out and set them on his bed. Then he waited, pacing about out of sheer boredom and lack of nicotine
Finally. Mello gave a grunt of annoyance as he tucked his flashlight under his arm long enough to give the door a solid rap. The knock was more of an announcement than a request, and without hesitation he twisted the knob and shoved the door open.
"These hallways are a goddamn rat maze," he grumbled as he returned the flashlight to his hand. Most likely, Matt had better things to do than listen to him complain, but that knowledge had never stopped him before and it sure as hell wasn't going to stop him now.
"Well congratulations," Matt clapped with little enthusiasm as Mello arrived. "I have your cheese." The file was handed out first while the pillowcase with the chemicals followed in his other hand.
It wasn't as though he was in any hurry to get moving and meet the other History Club folks. Rather, he'd prefer to arrive fashionably late if possible. He'd been in the bathrooms his group was meeting up in before. A return visit hadn't been on his agenda.
"Good luck scaling the wall tonight," he couldn't help adding with a smirk.
Mello gave a grunt of indeterminate significance as he opened the folder and narrowed his eyes. This was what L had found? It resembled the folders he'd taken at Sai's request, but as soon as he scanned the text a cool discomfort washed over him. It wasn't the truth, but it was a little too close for his preferences

Mason had said the sun room? After a full week of forgetting his light shiner and map, Zelgadis was thankful to have them.
Now which way...?
