Day 34: Intercom, Dusk

Aug 14, 2008 05:19

The intercom clicked on just as the staff came around to pick up the empty (or half-empty, or full) plates of their patients. The quality of his broadcast definitely seemed better now, and for a moment, the patients might have sworn they heard a faint spike of feedback from their collective radios.

"I trust everyone enjoyed their meals, yes? I'm glad for that, and also for the fact that the new members of our population received such a warm welcome at our proverbial door.

"And speaking of our population, I'm also proud to say that, as per usual, four select patients have been chosen to participate in Special Counseling tonight! Yes! Their recuperation will be well on its way by the morning, I assure all of you. After all, one day, you'll all be cured of the ailments that currently plague you, able to rejoin..."

The Head Doctor trailed off, as if he'd gotten a little too into his feelings about the patients' recovery. He laughed a little nervously.

"In any case, I should leave you all to get a good night's rest. Take care and I'll talk to you in the morning!"

The intercom clicked off as the Institute went silent.
