Albel had wasted an entire night, but he couldn't quite figure out how he had actually wasted it. He had left his room early, didn't stand around doing nothing and no pathetic worm had dragged him down. Finding Fayt's room and smack the foolish maggot against the nearest wall shouldn't have taken a full night, but yet he found himself back in his

Still, it'd been nice to share a lunch with his "little brother," as well as to hear about everything the young genius had been up to since his arrival. Although, Leon had been a little vague with details, hadn't he? It was true he only knew about assignments as he received them, but that didn't explain all the things he'd been working on beforeAh, well. He was probably thinking too much on it ( ... )

Ashton's mood last shift had run the gamut from effervescent to downtrodden. Though he'd really meant to show his best face to the colonel, he was rather sure he'd embarrassed himself a little bit. He did like Roy Mustang, but at the same time he could feel that there was some wall there set in place by either the colonel's reserved nature or their oddly different backgrounds.
He wondered if he had made a good impression on the man. ...Well, he'd do his best. Perhaps he would be allowed into the basement - or better yet, sent with his swords to jump over the wall. Would it be open again tonight? He wasn't sure. He just knew he wouldn't press either way. He'd be assigned where the colonel wanted to assign him, and that would be that.
As soon as he learned that it was his shower time, though, Ashton froze. He'd been expecting it, but he really hated these communal showers. He was afraid people were looking at him. Not that his body was unfit or anything, or anything less than sculpted, ( ... )

Hadn't a single torture through water under the banner of 'personal hygiene' been enough? Scar had loathed it then, and he still did now. Because, as a lion, he had natural loath for water or anything wet.
Not that his nurse took any pity on him for that matter. Even despite his protests, he still ended up in the shower area holding a piece of cloth along with a stern look and the message to go and 'take a shower'. Licking still didn't suffice, apparently.
Hardly paying any attention to the only other occupant of the room, he moved reluctantly to one of the stalls. But instead of turning one of the knobs, he proceeded to glare at the offensive mechanism. Only being in the dampened room was bad enough as it was. He didn't intend to make the situation even worse.
[also, very much free!]

What joker's idea was it to have communal shower day? Conklin suddenly remembered why he hated this place so much. Aside from the fact that it brought back memories of high school gym class, and his time spent in Vietnam, which had robbed him of his foot.
And this, of course, presented a problem. He had to remove the prosthetic in order to shower, due to the velcro that fastened it. After some pointless arguing with his nurse, he was allowed to keep his cane. So, with but a towel between himself and the world, and without even his damned Quasimodo's boot, he limped/wobbled to a free area along the wall, the nurse kindly (ha!) going with him.
"Goodness, Mr. Irons, it's not going to bite you," the nurse said to a darker-skinned man who was glaring sullenly at the water knobs. "Mr. Caine, I trust you know what to do."
"Uh-huh," Conklin said absently, trying to stay upright. He really, really hated shower day.

Maybe it were the circumstances, maybe it was what he had read on the bulletin board, or maybe he was in a very irritated mood because of both, but he couldn't stop the snarl coming from his throat.
He'd rather have the shower head biting him instead of spitting water. At least he could have attempted to bite right back. How he hated this....
It seemed the patient the nurse had taken with him wasn't too fond of this as well. Oh, goody, now they could wallow in self-pity together.

The snarl - for it was unmistakeably one - startled Conklin slightly. The nurse had disappeared, leaving them to their own devices. While Conklin was all for the idea of passive resistance by not showering - maybe they could stink the staff to death - he really, really needed to bathe, no matter how opposed his shower-neighbor was to the idea.
"I take it you're not too fond of shower day, either," he said, trying to figure out how to deal with the plumbing and his cane at the same time without falling over. This was humiliating. Maybe he would just go for the passive resistance after all.

Zelnick was, thankfully, one of first into the showers. Not that he would enjoy the public bathing thing, but at least he could get as clean as possible before the place got crowded.
As quickly as he could, he stripped, grabbed a towel to wrap protectively around his waist, and headed straight for a stall as far away from anyone else as possible, turning the water on hot. Hopefully the steam would lend at least a little more privacy...

Giggling quietly to himself (and also walking around without any cover or any sense of shame), ZEX wandered and stared at everyone's nude bodies gleefully. Somewhere, beneath the lust that flooded his mind at the moment, he thought that this would also be helpful to clean off his human skin and hair, both of which got dirtier than he would expect through his daily activities. Particularly his human hair... it was a tangled mess and hopefully the application of some water would fix that. Or so he assumed, not that washing himself was the first thing on his mind.
And the Creator certainly was favoring him today! He saw someone who looked very ( ... )

After an awkward pause, he added, "Standing behind me isn't a very effective way to take a shower." Not exactly the 'go away' it was intended as, but hopefully ZEX wouldn't ignore it entirely.

"You're so beautiful, my Captain!" ZEX couldn't contain himself in such circumstances, embracing him with abandon. Human skin felt quite different when wet... mmm. "As ravishing as ever, especially when wet. Humans are so full of surprises!" And water felt strange on their skin as well, in a way that was interestingly intense. It felt like water pierced further into his skin than normal... what a strange sensation. He wondered how that might change things, should he and his Captain begin touching one another as they had before...
"You do look so wonderful without your clothes." And it was a bizarrely sincere compliment, considering.

Showers, huh?
Tyki wasn't really bothered by the fact they were public. Though also familiar with the luxury of private showers, he had seen much, much worse in his life as a hobo. And besides, it wasn't like showers were all that often available for the poor.
The Noah quickly stripped himself of his clothing, leaving them in a messy bundle (he couldn't be bothered to keep them neat. He didn't like them anyway). He also removed his glasses, something that didn't happen all that often while in his white side. But glasses and damp areas just didn't get along that well. Most people thought he was practically blind without them, but unfortunately for the ones who hoped he would walk into walls, that wasn't really the case. He probably had his Noah to thank for that.
After getting a towel he stepped into the shower area. There weren't many people around yet, but he picked a random shower stall anyway and began fiddling around with the knobs until the water was the right temperature.

"Eh?" Tyki hadn't been paying attention to any of the other patients, so he was slightly surprised for someone to make conversation. Not that he minded or anything.
"Yeah, guess it had been okay." He answered, smiling. Considering his nicotine deprived circumstances, at least. It could have been worse. "How 'bout your day?"
In the mean time he reached for the soap and began washing himself. The combination of water and soap made the small wound on his leg sting a bit, but the Noah ignored it. "Name's Tyki, by the way."
It might not all be that wise to introduce himself when he had his very own caution poster on the bulletin board, but who cared anyway?

Following the other's lead, he stepped into the running water, happy to get clean. "I'm Peter," he responded. The other man hadn't offered up any particularly interesting information, though the fact that he was so laidback was peculiar.
"My day... Well, I've had better, but..." He really needed to stop spreading his bad mood around when everyone else was already trying their best to stay positive in this situation.
"Nevermind," he said, flipping his wet hair out of his face as he reached for some soap. "Have you been here a while? It seems like you're pretty comfortable with all of this." Sometimes he wasn't sure if it was worth it to bother with all the small talk, but at the same time you never knew what a conversation might lead to.
