Things deteriorated from weird to downright spooky. Anyone would be unsettled by multiple voices echoing into the chamber from multiple sources. Staying in this place for more than a second sounded like a very stupid idea.
Her expression a perfect picture of discomfort, Toph backed toward the exit. "I am so out of here," she muttered, reaching for the doorknob.
Without further delay, she pulled open the door and sprinted down the hallway.
The intercom announcement gave Willow much, much more to think about than they normally did. Most of it she couldn't understand, but that was becoming too normal to question. It sounded like it was giving some sort of clue to a way of escaping, but Willow was more interested in one part of it.
Not even the most experienced hacker? It definitely sounded like the Head Doctor didn't want that entire section broadcasted, and it left Willow wondering what on earth it meant, and nervously hoping no one had discovered she tried to hack in the other night. Would she be able to get in if she tried again tonight? Was that what it meant?
With a brief shake of her head, Willow sat down on the bed to wait for Angel and Anya to get there.
"Hello, Willow!" Anya exclaimed excitedly as she burst through the door to her friend's room. Her own loud voice made her head hurt, so she stopped talking and settled for grinning. Maybe it was a bit of a manic grin, but she couldn't help being excited for the basement. They might finally escape tonight!
"How goes the moping?" she enquired, speaking more softly than usual. "I'll admit, I did a bit of that myself the night before last, but now it's time to be energetic and productive! The entrance to the basement is in the walk-in freezer. What do you think is the best way to approach? Angel and I attempted to get in through the courtyard last night, but there was an evil, evil clown who had somehow been moved from the sewers and convinced to stop murdering children and instead murder us. Fortuntely, we survived."
She continued smiling at Willow, expecting either kudos for escaping Death By Clown, or a suggestion of how to enter the basement.
Willow just stared at the vengeance demon at first, trying and failing to think of a reply that covered everything. She finally gave up and got to her feet. "Hi, Anya." The redhead used searching for her map as an excuse to think of something else slightly more intelligent to say, but couldn't think of anything much better by the time she straightened up with map in hand. So she settled for the inevitable.
"...A clown?"
She stopped for a moment, then shook her head. "Right. Congratulations... on surviving. I guess." Angel would probably have a better account of what happened, so Willow was just going to wait for that.
"Um..." she began, moving on to things that actually made sense. She glanced down at the map, frowning. "You can only go through the Sun Room or the courtyard. Apparently there's always something in the Sun Room, so I'd say courtyard, but..." she trailed off, gesturing at Anya. "There's... evil clowns. I think."
"Evil clowns were yesterday," Angel said, catching the tail end of the conversation as he appeared at the doorway. "She won't be back."
He was almost positive she was a patient under Special Counseling and he'd been told enough about the topic to know that whatever happened tended to be a one-shot deal for each person. Unless there were more patients who disguised themselves as clowns in the institute. It was possible.
He stepped inside and closed the door behind him to prevent their conversation from drifting too far down the hallway. Anya could be...less quiet, sometimes. But it was good to see both her and Willow seemed fine, given the circumstances.
Setting the newly made axe down on the bed, he reached for the sheets and glanced at Willow. "Can I use this?"
He needed something to make a decent grip on the handle; the bare metal wasn't going to cut it. No doubt the staff would replace the torn sheets the next morning, the same way they went through the trouble of bandaging people up.
Night. Bella found herself blinking in surprise when she realized it was dark - where had dinner gone? Pushing herself up on her bed, she quickly rubbed at her eyes before rolling off her bed.
Without even thinking, she reached under her pillow and grabbed her flashlight, clicking it on with a content sigh. Light was always better; the darkness caused her to think too much, and at times her mind could be a rather cruel place.
Rolling off of her bed, Bella reached underneath the mattress and pulled out her pipe, clutching onto it tightly before she moved towards the door, pausing once she reached out to grasp onto the handle. She knew Edward would be mad at her for leaving the room without him, but ... honestly, she hated being cooped up in the thing waiting for him, especially after last night. She didn’t want to risk it.
Without looking back, the teenager quickly pulled the door open and stepped into the hallway, moving down it shortly after.
Ururu had been very quiet during dinner, focusing on eating dinner, so she hadn't really realized how much time had passed until the intercom went off. The head doctor sounded different, then he sounded normal, except he sounded mad. Ururu didn't understand all of the things that were said, but she could understand that much.
But she didn't want to spend too long thinking about it. She had to get to F3 quickly, to meet Orihime and the others. So she bid Skuld a hasty goodbye before grabbing her flashlight, and running out the door.
She strolled out into the hallway, this time having remembered her clothes stashed away in time to change into them in front of her roommate (and without shame, naturally), and started turning down the usual way. She wanted to find Tyki first, but she had no idea where to start, and ti was much easier trying to find Allen Walker since she knew where he usually ended up at least once every night. The Sun Room doors it was!

At least as fast as she could with her injuries.
