The stairs were empty, for the time being. Leon didn't feel like lingering, though, and he hurried up the stairs, glancing over his shoulder every few steps to make sure Clark was following.
"How long have you been here?" Leon asked Clark. He couldn't remember if they'd gone over that last time they'd met; it had been a few days since then, and they'd only met briefly. "And have you been up to the second floor before?"
