the quickest way by his experience was still that of staying indoors. He'd been through the hallways enough to know that they kept relatively free of monsters when compared with the outdoors. And aside from that, the distance from his room to the Princess's (or the room that was once her's) was the same either way. He didn't need to stop by M99, didn't want to if it could be helped, and had told that Yukito guy that it was his problem if he got himself lost. This would be a straight shot then, one hopefully without hindrance.

Leon continued heading south, pausing to check his map in the relatively quiet corridor. Things were likely to be busier and more dangerous up ahead, and it made sense to get his bearings now.

The hall was surprisingly empty. Allen's night-vision was better than average though, which was immensely helpful in this sort of atmosphere and with no torches. He stayed close to the walls as he walked down the hall, his eyes watching for any signs of movement.

The halls were becoming more crowded; three individuals exited through the doors to the south as he slipped into the hallway himself. Slipping out his map, he shone the light down upon it and confirmed his bearings. Down the door, and into the southern hall, which leads to the larger hall beyond that and the stairwells...let us see if these new individuals are more timely than the last bunch...

Well this was a hell of a lot better than having to wander around the same old halls. Faster, too.
The fact that Reid had had to be the one to suggest it made him wonder what Tyler had been smoking recently. Maybe being out from under Caleb's thumb was more disorienting for the baby boy than it was for Reid. Not so funny a thought, anyway, since at times like these, Reid remembered all the good things about the covenant.
