Day 33: Intercom, Noon
There it was, the usual jingle and click that signaled the end of a shift. The Head Doctor's tone seemed a little more normal this time around as he addressed the staff and patients.
"Good afternoon, everyone, and I apologize for my brevity earlier!" While the Head Doctor sounded more normal, there was still something amiss in his voice. Now, at least, he seemed to have whatever it was that had gone wrong under control. "In any case, we'll be heading to lunch now, although patients are certainly welcome to go to the restrooms and wash themselves up quickly from the outdoor activities before they begin eating. The meal itself is... fish and chips! That is, fried cod filet with french fries on the side, along with optional additions of cole slaw, cooked carrots, and cooked green beans. We also have tartar sauce and ketchup available for dipping, of course! And as always, we have regular salads available along with our normal assortment of drinks.
"I have matters I must attend to now, so I hope you'll all excuse me. See you in a bit!"
