Nightshift 32: Main Hallway, 1-West

May 30, 2008 12:00

[From here.]Sync stifled a yawn as he entered one of the main hallways, already knowing where it led since he’d already spent a majority of his time around the Sun Room that day. He couldn’t help but find himself smirking smugly as fond memories sprouted from those thoughts, wiping at his cheeks as if Anise’s tears were still smeared all over his ( Read more... )

After another few moments of debating, Tyki eventually concluded to try and ask someone for directions. He figured that it would be less work than trying to search the entire hospital without even knowing what was located where.

He already began looking around the area for someone that he could approach when someone almost collided into him. Well, if that wasn't excellent timing...

He waved off her apology with a smile. "Do not worry about it." he answered. Though a sadist, Tyki's black side could also be friendly and polite for someone who enjoyed nailing Exorcists to...anything they could be nailed upon. And when he didn't have a reason to make someone scream in agony, he couldn't be bothered to actually do it. He was a sadist, but most of all, a very lazy sadist. There was also the Noah's instinct in him, the urge to kill an Exorcist whenever he saw one. This woman certainly wasn't one of those fake apostles.

Besides, it was incredibly difficult to get directions out of someone when they were screaming in either pain, fear, hatred or all of the above ('Go to hell' didn't count). Though he could certainly try, there was a distinct lack of his powers or any interesting tools that might be of aid. So it was more than logical to choose a different approach.

"I am looking for the doctor offices." he explained. "Do you know where they are located, miss...?" The faster he'd reach the doctor officers, the faster he would get his smokes.

"I'm afraid I don't," Lia replied. A slight grimace marred her features as she admitted further, "I'm not certain of the location of many places here, actually. I've only just...arrived recently." Though she knew of few ways outside of looking that one might find anything, she couldn't help but feel a little foolish for setting out with no real concrete impression of where she should be heading.

She may have in the passed zig-zagged across several Territories, but at least then she'd had a reason, and a destination firmly in mind.

"My name is Arabella Ardelia," she said by way of introduction. And then added, "Lia." Familiar address seemed appropriate to the situation, as she assumed he was a fellow prisoner. Besides, she preferred the diminutive.

"I see." Tyki let out a disappointed sigh. Figures he'd find someone that was pretty much in the same boat. So much for his luck...

Another glance around told him not many other people in this hall were available for asking, and looking for someone who could be asked was basically the same idea as trying to find those offices himself. His eyes fell on the stairs a little further away. Perhaps those offices were on the second floor? He supposed seeing for himself would be better than standing around.

"Tyki Mikk." he answered to her introduction. And after a short pause, he added:

"Well, I need to find those offices."

Lia surveyed the halls and the relative scarcity of other people within them herself. The latter surprised her more than a little, as she'd assumed anyone who could would be about, looking for some way to either escape or fight back, as temperament demanded.

"I've been given to believe it's inadvisable to travel alone after dark," she ventured after a moment's pause. "And two sets of eyes might do better than one."

Tyki stared at Lia for a few seconds, somewhat surprised. He couldn't really argue against her statement, either, so if she wanted to tag along with his quest for cigarettes, he wasn't going to stop her.

And he guessed she had a point, too. Rhode would definitely stomp on his face if he got eaten. He liked it the way it was now, thank you very much.

"Well, alright." he answered, beginning to head towards the nearest staircase.
