Nightshift 32: M71-80 Hallway

May 30, 2008 09:48

Jade was rather used to these quiet meals nowadays. It didn’t provide much in the form of entertainment, but they were efficient and that was all that mattered. He quickly finished his meal and began preparing for the night, gathering the same materials as the previous night before setting out into the hall ( Read more... )

( from here)

Naomi was practically jogging as she turned the corner into L's hallway, her flashlight gripped tightly in her hand. And now she was glad she'd picked up the pace in getting here. Ryuga was already out in the hall!

"What are you doing?" she asked, slowing as she approached him. Why was he outside his room by himself? Monsters could easily be in the hallway!

Zoro gathered his things-- the three bats, the helmet full of stuff, his flashlight-- and headed out looking like a man on a mission. He was going to find Luffy's room (it was M30... uhhh, something...) on his own and as soon as possible. They had things to discuss.

With an air of seriousness about him, Zoro excited his room, ran down the short length of the hallway to room 71, wondered where he was for a second before doubling back and heading towards where he thought Luffy's room was.

Ditched again. Well, that was just fine because if Badou Nails had learned anything in his short and painful life it was not to run in the direction of the explosion. Well, not unless you were Haine-the-un-fucking-killable or the Super Tranny. They'd be back soon enough and the building would stop shaking at any moment. He might as well try to coax Nill out from under the table when everything...

....everything was soft and dark, and he was laying some room he didn't recognize. Oh shit. If this was a particularly good dream - and judging from the fact that nothing hurt, it might be - he'd roll over and find a dozen cartons of cigarettes laying beside him and keeping the rest of the bed warm and welcoming. He'd take that over the token ugly-chick-who-looked-hotter-last-night. Badou pushed the covers away. No? No. A man could hope and even his dreams would just crush it ( ... )

After another uneventful and Ritsuka deprived day, Soubi was up and out of his room the moment he had a chance. He took his radio today, just to listen to these co called 'clues' people had mentioned. He didn't much care about it. If they were giving hints, it wouldn't be an easy escape. Soubi had to find a weak spot. Or continue hiding in this place with Ritsuka, praying nobody would come to tear them apart anymore.

Well, here was the hallway... now where was the Nocturne? Xigbar glanced down the hallway as though expecting Demyx to pop up right then and there. When such was not the case, he pondered what to do. He had a bow and his flashlight, and his pokeball in his pocket, maybe he could just go on ahead?

...nah, he'd never live it down if Demyx got eaten after being ditched. And it could be fun! Trying to avoid the sneaking suspicion that he was becoming responsible, Xigbar called out, "Hey, Nine! You here? Hurry up or I'm gonna ditch you!"

Demyx had been hiding waiting in his room; if there were monsters out there, he reasoned, then poking his head out before Xigbar showed up would just be pointlessly dangerous. Besides, Xigbar knew what room was his, right? (He'd confirmed that he'd gotten the door number right.) He'd knock.

Of course, knocking, Demyx realized belatedly when he heard his friend bellow, wasn't really Xigbar. Yelling from a distance and waiting for results was more his style.

Scrambling off his bed and yanking open the door, Demyx catapulted out into the hallway. He definitely didn't want to get left behind. "I'm here!" he yelped.

Hah, he knew that'd get a reaction! Xigbar laughed as Demyx scrambled out of his room, grinning ear to pointed ear as the younger Nobody yelped. Man, that never got old!

"Good!" The Freeshooter called out with an amused lilt to his voice, putting a hand on his hip as he motioned the other Nobody onward. "Take a deep breath, though, or you'll attract all kinds of creepy-crawlies. An' stay on my left side, okay?"

Demyx made a vague noise that was almost a grumble as he ran a hand through his hair. The wide grin on Xigbar's face and the amusement in his voice were proof that his friend had just been messing with him. Man, he always fell for that...

He took a deep breath, as instructed - how would that help? He had no idea, but if Xigbar said so - and moved over to stand beside him; on his left side, as instructed. "Why your left side?" he asked. "I mean, if I was on your right, I could be your eyes over there, couldn't I?"
