Dayshift 31: Doctor's Office 1 (Dr. Yumeno) [second shift]

Well, well, what a hospital this was.

Daedalus leaned back in his chair, eyes closed, the curled knuckles of one hand pressed to the corner of his lips. Already, his posture spoke of weariness, despite the fact he had been in residence for less than a day already. And he was weary. This was no place for him; he'd known that before orders of 'temporary reassignment' had been unanimously approved. Pursuing the files for Landel's operatives and his own "patients" only continued to affirm it.

The matter of short notice was not the problem, as Daedalus was rarely caught unprepared, and certainly not over an impromptu round of archaic therapy. No, it was not the manner, but the form. Patients of various ages in one unmanageable group, medication administered only during particularly violent outbursts, multiple doctors that had a rotating schedule of patients... Did anyone really think such a system conduced progress?

He would have felt more content were he--and he alone--working on the clientele.

But Daedalus had to smile. In all honestly, he assumed the answer to his question was 'no'. Perhaps that was the key to keep in mind.

daedalus, sanosuke
