[continued from
here]So far, Naminé's excursion outside of her room had been relatively safe. Maybe her theory about the monsters having no interest in Nobodies was true. Well, there was no need for Naminé to try and press her luck. The layout here seemed different too... She sighed into the empty hallway. All that work she put into memorizing the

Fucking door, keeping him from being outside.
But the room was dark, even though strikes of lightning illuminated it from time to time. A dark room could mean an unlocked door. It had the two other times he'd known it.
Zoro's thoughts flickered from Luffy -- sitting with him in his own dark room, concerned over his captain's injuries, over the way Luffy seemed to be falling more and more out-of-it as time dragged on -- to Roy, the way the asshole had directed them to the kitchen without bothering to inform them it had been locked.
A key, first.
Then knives.
Then magical-whatevers, and he'd have a sword again.
Where to find a key was beyond him. But sitting around in this damn room wasn't doing any good.
It didn't take Zoro long to find his way to the door. It was unlocked. He pushed through into the hallway, and when he did, he heard something very familiar -- the echoings of a voice.
Luffy.
Zoro moved fast, after the voice, down the hall. He didn't have his goddamn flashlight, but he didn't care to go back. Where the hell was Luffy going now? Wandering off with strangers wasn't the best idea in Zoro's book. He was actually slightly irritated that Luffy had gone out without bothering to wake Zoro, too. After what had happened the night before...
Well, at least Luffy was okay, but still.
...That was, as long as that was Luffy's actual voice. Hell, maybe this damn place was playing tricks on him.
Growling in slight annoyance, Zoro's feet moved a little faster until he came to a new hallway. More voices. More people. Somewhere, there were certain to be more monsters.
Zoro wasn't sure he was prepared to deal with them, and that, more than anything, pissed him off.
"...Luffy," he called, trying not to be too loud. "Where the hell are you?"

The darkness would be welcome in the end.
There were a few people in the hallway, but not one of them was Katan. Even in total darkness, he'd have known Katan in less than a human heartbeat - his most beautiful creation could never escape from him. And had better not try.
No, no....
There was no sign of Katan.
Wrath flowed through Rosiel, and his eyes narrowed again.
But this anger, well....
This simply would not do! Not here, in front of these disgusting crawling mewling should be dying people.
First impressions, of course. One had to remember their manners.
He managed to his more than picture-perfect smile slide onto his face.
Never let anyone see how ugly I am. If they see, then I shall have to destroy them. And for now, I am tired, I am not in the mood. Katan, save me from this....
He maneuvered away from the people, away from that room he had awoken in. As if there were anything inside of four plain walls that would hold any interest for him.
He must find Katan Alexiel Lucifer God a way out. There had to be one.
And if anyone knew and would not tell, why, then who better than to coax an answer out of their cracked and bleeding lips?
The smile became something that would have been genuine if it had truly had the ability.
As he walked into an adjacent hallway, the flashlight's beam fell on yet another mortal person.
Rosiel had never been one to simply move out of the way. Why change now?
Oh, no, he would not change.
He would not move.
This was as good a place to start as any.

"Watch where you're shining that fucking thing," he said, just loud enough to be heard. He didn't have time for this bullshit. He needed to find that goddamn key.

"Oh, my, I suppose you could say I didn't see you coming."
His tone was pure velvet, torn at the edges, frayed only at the corners, the barest hint that he was not what he seemed. God himself would hardly notice.
It is such a pity that God is a lie...
He lowered the flashlight, not failing to memorize the human's face body form. He had rarely never been one to forget.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," he muttered. "Just keep the damn thing pointed down." Zoro didn't like the tone of voice, the way this guy (guy?) sounded almost sickly sweet. Something about this entire encounter put Zoro far more on edge than usual.
Maybe it was because the familar weight at his side was gone.

It was more than unwelcome.
It was a disgrace.
Well. He would not forget.
But for now, all that mattered was blaming finding Katan. Katan.
He looked away from the human, turning his cold golden gaze elsewhere, pausing for a moment.
But there.
He had made a wrong turn.
One more thing that will have to be dealt with. My wrong decision. Deceived. Deception. Katan, do not think I will allow you to escape my wrath lightly.
He noticed that the green-haired man had not moved, though it did seem he had been looking for someone...
"May I help you?" he asked. He was far more irriated than his voice really showed.
For someone who would not worship him show any respect, he hadn't made a point of getting away, either. Would this turn out to his benefit, in the end?

"No," he answered gruffly, short and firm. "No, I don't need your help."
Zoro could find his captain all on his own. Never mind the whole direction-impairment thing.
Or how he couldn't hear Luffy's voice anymore. Damnit.
He paused, suddenly, gazing towards the man once more. He didn't like his attitude at all.
"Maybe you wanted me to help you?" he asked, knowing it would hit a nerve.

Insolence. Don't make me destroy kill keep hurt you.
"I am quite sure I don't need help, but if you're offering your services, then...."
Everything at a price, my strong little puppet. Everything at a terrible price.

Damnit, why hadn't he thought to grab his own? Now, Zoro didn't even think he'd be able to make it back to his room without some sort of guidance...
Cursing under his breath, his gaze rounded on the man with the light once more.
"And just what is it you're trying to do?" he asked, arms crossing over his chest.
Reply
"You mean other than escape?" he asked, almost nicely, "I'm looking for someone."
My beloved servant puppet son, Katan....
"If I guess right, he would have just arrived, too, though these silly names that are not ours give me no clues...."
He wasn't really talking to Zoro, so much as at him.
