Nightshift 30: M51-M60 Hallway

It was unexpected to Sai, actually being led back to his room before the night came. He'd been sitting, planning for the event of darkness overtaking the institute and them becoming surrounded by monstrous orderlies. Even Haku had been on his toes. While it was for the best that they'd been returned to their quarters first, the ninja couldn't ( Read more... )

Allen still felt weak, but he was determined to keep his obligations. He'd said he would protect Rinali and he would be certain to do at least that much. He just hoped she kept her word about staying in her room.

Edgeworth ran through the mental list of things he needed for that night; the only thing missing was a weapon. He'd requested one from the "weavers" of the place, however, and with any luck, his companions would be amenable to breaking into the kitchen and getting something he could use until then.

While they hadn't made a plan as such, the prosecutor did still want to meet with Detective Gumshoe; they hadn't really gotten to talk much at breakfast, and the incident the night before was first and foremost on his mind.

He grabbed his radio, then remembered what Dr. Landel had said about killing the man who had done the broadcast. Well. One more thing I can add to his long list of crimes the day I get him in my courtroom, he thought, dropping it into his coat pocket anyway. He took his flashlight, then stepped into the hallway.

Aidou could honestly say that out of his two suspicions--Martin Landel off murdering someone, and the cafeteria being a perfect place to lock doors and create a slaughterhouse--he was more surprised his second one hadn't come true. Eh. He'd never liked the man on the radio.

Good riddance.

Adjusting the collar of his uniform, he left.

Sano didn't have to walk too far, and he knocked on Kenshin's door before walking in. Didn't look like Zuko was there yet, but that wasn't too surprising, especially if the kid had to come from the same place they did the night before.

"Hey Kenshin. Not too late, am I?" It hadn't been all that long since he'd seen Kenshin, but Sanosuke was still worried. Just what would they get into that might make the Battousai come out? Really, the fighter didn't want to see it, but he knew he had to be prepared in case it happened.

Man, that was something he didn't want to face.

Sanosuke couldn't help a grin when he saw Kenshin wearing a smile. Now that was a lot more like the rurouni he knew and loved! So just for the hell of it, Sano hooked an arm around Kenshin, and pulled him close so he could playfully knock him in the head.

Anything to stay normal and sane.

"Well, depends I guess." Sano let Kenshin go after a minute, then reached up to scratch the back of his head. "Is Okita's room far away? I kind of mentioned that Shaggy should meet us here, but if he's got to come from where we did last night, maybe it'd be quicker to see Okita first."

Both he and Allen had their plans for the night, it seemed, the boy leaving even faster than Sasuke did. It wasn't much after Allen was gone that Sasuke stepped out of the room, though, sword hefted in one hand and handful of gardening tools -- one of the three-pronged tools, the scissors, and the weed-puller, all probably good enough to make do for now -- for Mark tosssed into a spare shirt, knotted into a makeshift bag.

Following the wall as usual, Sasuke headed out, moving as rapidly as he could.
