[ inside f7]“What?” Kairi had been in the middle of getting off of the bed when she heard the announcement the head doctor made, surprise overtaking her face. Hadn’t the man on the radio been well known? Hadn’t he helped all kinds of people ( Read more... )

Finding relief in Mion's safety did little for Rena's need to hunt down the one responsible for her friend's "operation", but the girl decided to be patient. It was not in her best interest to be careless and lose the opportunity to strike. Thus, during dinner, Rena put on her best face for the nurses, eating and conversing as if no trouble existed in the world. Enough for them to believe she had had a change of heart.

A change of heart indeed, only it would be another heart in the most literal, bloody sense.

Her inquiry at the bulletin board had proved fairly fruitful. She at least knew there was a pattern to the doctors in charge of the experiments: they all hid their faces and spoke in a distinctive voice. Perhaps the latter was more contextual, but nevertheless, Rena had something to work on. As soon the patients were escorted to their respective rooms, she placed all the notes in her journal, hoping to take a moment tomorrow to decrypt them.

For now, there was night to attend to.

The girl was preparing for her assignment for the Arts and Crafts Club when the Dr. Landel's voice came over the intercom; however, the only reaction she made to the news of the Radio Man's death was to pull the radio out of her overcoat pocket and toss it aside. Their personal grudge was nothing more than a distraction at this moment. Maybe she would regret the man's murder later on, but now there were other matters to attend to.

Shoving 28 pens into the first available pocket and her pillowcase in another, the red head slipped out of the room and into hallway. She delivered a simple farewell to Amelia before closing the door. Other nights, Rena might have made sure her roommate had protection, but considering her track record with the club, she wanted to make the rendezvous in a timely fashion. It would be horrible if she let Sora and this Leon Magnus down [again].

Without pause, she ran down the hall.
