NIGHTSHIFT 30 - M21-M30 Hall

So that was what that bastard had been up to: he'd been wondering where the Head Doctor ran off to and now they knew. Personally, he didn't care one way or another what happened in their little bitch-fight - he didn't trust Martin Landel and he didn't trust whoever was behind the radio. If one of them was dead? They didn't care unless it meant they ( Read more... )

There wasn't a lot of time to prepare thanks to the placement of the dinner shift before the doors unlocked. Still, he had time to quickly change into his uniform while the nurse spoke, followed by Dr. Landel himself. So, Mr. Radio was dead, eh? He didn't find much sympathy for the death of a man who only spent his time mocking them and insulting them. He offered some useful prizes, but as a person he was likely just about as vile as the head doctor himself ( ... )

It looked like Captain Hitsugaya was already waiting outside for someone. Thursday waved with her free hand as she approached, the makeshift bag of wallets and keys clinking slightly in her other hand.

"Evening, Captain," she said once she was close enough. "There wasn't much in the Patient Possessions Room last night - Farfarello suggested we take leather wallets for sword hilts and keys for scrap metal, so there are around seven or eight wallets in here and God knows how many keys. Should I just drop them off inside?"

[sorry for the phail...I was sick]

Hitsugaya glanced over at Thursday. It was reassuring to know that one team was successful time and again. Hopefully she'd show similar success with the basement tonight. They really needed to make some progress down there.

"Good work," he said. "That will be fine."

[from here]Momo moved quietly down the hall, the reassuring feel of Hitsugaya's reiatsu nearby, toward M23. When she got close enough for a visual, she noted Hitsugaya was talking to Thursday. It was good to see the book-jumper was still around, looking well, and apparently successful ( ... )

[ Petrelli Reunion 2008! ]When Peter was returned to a room with a still-sleeping roommate, he felt like he was finally getting a moment of relief to sit and puzzle through everything - but no matter how much thought he put into all he had heard throughout the day, he still barely knew what was going on. The main thing he wanted to figure out at this point was whether or not the Company really was behind this in the end, by somehow using people with powers to abduct others and then keeping them held here in weakened states - or if this was something else entirely ( ... )

Night came suddenly again. Thankfully, this time, Nathan was prepared for the unsettling intercom posts timed perfectly with the eerie sound of door latches snapping open. He stood ready and waiting, flashlight in hand as the other remained free to fend off whatever stood to get in his way. Or attempt to, at any rate; it wasn't like his fists of fury would come anywhere close to taking down the monsters here, at least not if last night were any indication. Procuring some sort of makeshift weapon would have to be a top priority after he located Claire, and hopefully before that other asshole had time to do so at that. He stepped out of his room carefully; he wasn't happy to just leave Cid like he was, but he hoped the pilot would understand. He wasn't sure what he could do for Claire here, but he owed her that much, to take care of her. Like Peter would have ( ... )

Just as Peter had been starting to move, he heard the voice chime in from behind him and was forced to stop. The name was right, the voice itself was right, but the tone was wrong -- worn and strained. He wondered if he was just hearing things after his earlier thoughts about his half-dead brother - there was no way Nathan could be hereHe remembered what the nurse had told him when he had first woken up here: that they were "taking care of" his brother, too. He hadn't known what to think of it, but maybe ( ... )

Nathan almost flinched as Peter turned around, expecting that face to greet him. When he turned, when Nathan saw Peter's eyes, his face, that same, goofy haircut... It was hard to think at all. His thoughts were racing, the logical side of him struggling to determine how and why as the lesser known aspect of him, the big brother, struggled to form words to express anything at all. Peter was dead, his mind kept screaming, but clearly Peter was here ( ... )

Hiei couldn't care less about some unseen figure on the radio. He had other things to do, and first on the list was getting to the midget god's room as quickly as possible. The only problem was that when Hiei stepped into the hall, he still felt off despite the time that had passed since he'd been sedated.

And in a way worse than sedation could ever be.

The demon scowled when he tried to open the Jagan eye, the source of his power, only to have nothing happen. It was just as sealed as it was during the day, leaving him blind and even more powerless than the prison had already made him. In frustration Hiei hit the wall, though it did nothing to solve his problems.

Neither did the curse he grumbled under his breath.

Vanishing back into his room just long enough to get his flashlight, the demon broke into a run when he went down the hall. But even that was slowed, only adding to Hiei's frustrations as he went.

After dinner, Itachi walked back to the room he had been placed in, escorted by the orderlies. He heard the door lock behind him, which led to a moment of speculation. If the institution became more interesting at night as Zabuza had said, that must mean the patients could leave their rooms. Perhaps the locks were easy to break ( ... )

Hikaru was a little out of breath when he got to Kaoru's door, but he got there in record time. He knocked, hoping that his brother would answer.

"Oi, Kaoru. Open up."

Kaoru was getting himself together before he could face the corridor of doom and see his brother. He had his torch, of course and had stuffed a load of pens into his pockets as well as the radio. He didn't pay much attention to it, but figured it ought to make a good blunt object.

He flicked the communicator and frowned at it's silence. Still not working. He'd hunt Dr Washu down tomorrow. For now he'd have to do witho-

"Oi Kaoru..."

Kaoru grabbed the small comm and looked at it closely before he realised the voice had come from outside his door. He wrenched it open and glared at his brother. "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO WAIT!" Not only that, Hikaru and wandered off after the showers. He needed rest but.. he could have rested with Kaoru somewhere quiet! And it was Kaoru's duty to go to Hikaru tonight, dammit. He didn't budge from the doorway.

Hikaru didn't really know what he'd been expecting when Kaoru answered the door, but it hadn't been that.

"Uh...happy to see you too?" He raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry if I was mistaken, but I was under the impression that I was going to your room tonight." Well, no use crying over spilt...whatever. He was with Kaoru, and he was in one piece, so what did it matter? He really didn't see the big deal.

Sighing, Hikaru reached over and put an arm around his twin. "Look, I'm sorry I worried you."

How the hell was Kaoru supposed to stay angry? Hikaru was wrong. it was Kaoru who should have done the visiting, but they were together now, weren't they? Nothing else should mattered.

"Well you know now," he huffed, more angry at himself for giving in this easily as he hugged his twin. He pulled his brother into the room and kicked the door shut.

"You hear that stuff on the radio? It's getting creepy." Usually he ignored the thing, but... whatever.
